I have four payday loans. One with Cash Today, one with one click cash, fast cash and the other I can't remember. They all want their money and want it now. It's been since 05 since i took these stupid loans. I feel so stupid .. and alone...
i've been told not to pay them at all and report them. I've told them to send it all to collections but they won't. what do I do. I live in Connecticut and need help now. I want them off my back.
anyone please. you can even email me at (email removed for your safety - Roxy) with advice.

thank you

Kasy, You have had these pdls since 2005? Please go back through your bank statements and find who the last one is. You will need that information. You need to close your bank account so they no longer have access to your money. Internet pdls are prohibited in CT. I recognize them as internet, are any storefront?

Please read this about closing your account.

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/close-account.html

If you have any questions at all please post them. I will post CT law for you so you and the members can refer to it as needed.

Get on the phone and call their processors. Then send each and every one of them an email indicating the name of the processor, their phone number and that you have spoken with them. I am assuming that they haven't been taking any money from your bank account all this time? If not, they probably will start doing so if they are asking for money now. How did you manage to escape this for so long?

they don't have my account # anymore. I don't know how I managed to escape this long, but now it's getting very frustrating. They want either a debit or pre paid credit card. Or a money gram. They won't give me their address to send money order to. I told them I am willing to pay, but they won't work with me on my terms. I sent a fax today to cash today asking them to cease all phone calls at my place of employement and direct all inquiries to either email or my home phone. I've even asked them to send it out to collection agencies but they won't do that either.

I am assuming that the account you used for the deposit is no longer valid? If that is the case then you don't have to worry about ACH/EDT debits. That is a good thing but the processors won't be of any help under those circumstances. They need to be taking the money in order to stop them. Did you punch in the names of these PDLs at the top of the page to see what addresses come up? That could be a way to get a useable address. Just make sure it it sent in a money order, not anything connected to your bank records. I would file complaints on them with your AG, the BBB, and the FTC. It's time comsuming, but necessary.

I did report cash today to the ftc in london. that's where they are out of. but should I just pay them to be done?
I'm afraid of sending a money order. what if they don't get it, and how will I know if they do? even if I file a complaint I still have to pay them right? sorry this is all so confusing and upsetting. I can't believe I did that at all.

KAsy, They are prohibited in your state. Yes, you need to pay them back, but you can do so on your terms. Here is a letter you can use as a template to send to them..

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/outstanding-loan.html

Anything you send to them and send through USPS, send certified return receipt, that way you can prove they received your mail.

Amerilaon, One Click and United Cash Loans are all part of a company called MTE and they are difficult at best to deal with. I had One Click and they eventually left me alone. File on all of them with the Better Business Bureau which you can do online at bbb.org. For filing against them with your state you would file with

Regulator: Connecticut Department of Banking
Address: 260 Constitution Plaza Hartford CT 06103
Phone: (860) 240-8299
Fax: (860) 240-8167
Regulatory Contact: Alan Cicchetti Deputy Commissioner

Always be sure your bills like rent, electric, car, gas are paid first then you pay the pdls. I am willing to bet that if you send a money order they will cash it. If you need addresses, post which companies you need the addresses to and we can help you.

I know this is confusing, you will pick it up as you go along and we are always here to help with questions so ask away. Do not be upset with yourself, I had 9 internet pdls, so you are doing way better than I. If you can please post a list of the pdls and how much you borrowed from each. That way if a member has dealt with that company, they can post advice to you and let you know what worked for them.

Roxy is right. It is confusing and when you first come here you have so much to deal with it seems overwhelming. Just a little encouragement. . . .I came in 3 months ago with 5 PDLs. Today I have zero and some were one of the toughest. . .Ameriloan, UsFastCash for starters. People on this board are here to help you. Try not to judge yourself. We have all been there. Take a deep breath and follow the suggestions of those who have gone before you. I am in New York where PDLs are prohibited as well. I think that gives us a little stronger edge in playing hardball. All will be okay. Promise.

kasylvester, I'd also suggest calling the Connecticut Dept. of Banking listed above or any other financial agency for your State. They might be able to give you some extra advice, or even do some of the work for you. Good luck - and there IS light at the end of the tunnel; people here have been a great help to me and I know they'll help you, too.

I know i paid some of them, but they won't send me anything to state what I've paid. does anyone have the fax number for any of these as well.. I want to get this done asap.

Good morning or afternoon. I just want to let you know that you are not alone in this fight. I live in NC where payday loans are illegal too. I just sent a fax to World Wide Cash this morning after dealing with one of their associates on Wednesday afternoon. Tomorrow, I have to go and pick up a live check from my employer and go to the bank. I got one settlement from a payday lender but I want it in writing first. If you have your old bank statements, look through them and see how much you have paid the companies so far. If you paid the orginial amount you borrowed, then you are DONEfinished ,completed, no more

okay, now here comes the hard part for me. the only one that is not complying with anything is Cash Today. the told me that I borrowed 200.00 but now owe 5000. then yesterday it went down to 1000. according to my state law in CT they can only charge $17.00 per 100. in the letter I am typing.. how do I figure what they can actually charge me?

isn't cash today in the UK,if so they can't really do anything except to call and haras.if you paid the principal you are done totally.notify the FTC,other government bodies really can't do anything.just try to limit your phone contact as they get encouraged by you even speaking to them.if they call hang up right away.that's it,they are overseas and can only call.avoid them at all costs.

Kasy, Guest is right. they are overseas and can not do anything to you. Do not worry about them. If you can, let the calls go to voicemail and respond in writing. If they are calling at work, tell them you were fired..they will not know it is you. They are just trying to get you to pay them but the fact is, they can not enforce a thing. :D

The bad news is that most of these payday lenders are either overseas or they use stores like the "UPS Store" to get their mail. I just got a letter back from one company marked "return to sender: Addressee Unknown" Sorry, but stamps just went up today and I do not have the money to give away at this time. The best thing is to e-mail or fax the ___________ out of these people until they get tired of dealing with you.

Good Morning, I just want to check on you to see how you were doing. I just want to let you know that you are going to make it. You are in a state where these companies are illegally lending money to you. These companies know this but they think you do not know your rights. That is what the forum is for to inform consumers of their rights in dealing with these companies. I am rooting for you.

I'm doing great.. thanks for checking in.. this place is awesome. i appreciate all the help. I actually got a response to my complaint from the consumer affairs in London. They said that they were opening up an investigation on Cash Today. They did give me phone numbers to call with questions,.. but how the heck do you call London from the united states? I've never called over seas before.
anyway, I'm going to fax the letters again today just in case they didn't call. besides, I did tell them awhile ago if they wanted their money, they can refer it out to collection agency and I will pay the agency and that way they would get their money. If they were legit, they would have by now.

Well, I faxed over the letters that they have to contact me only by email or us mail not by phone calling me, and already I got two phone calls within 5 minutes tonight. I am so pissed off right now.. the lady had the nerve to ask me if I was going to pay by email!!!!.. I told her they've been reported and if they call again, they will be reported again and again. The only reason I answered was because my daughter answered the phone and gave it to me saying it was a friend.. wow.. stupid am I!!!!!

Kasy, Hang in there. The phone calls do not last forever. I told my friends I was having problems with my phone and asked them to call my home phone (the pdls had my cell) I would just set it to vibrate and if I did not recognize the number, I sent it to voice mail....after I had the numbers I programmed it to ring silently for that number and went on my merry way. IF they have your house phone, turn the ringer off if you have too. You are doing great and we are here for you! :D

well, hopefully they will get the picture. I just emailed both of them from the email that they sent me offering me 25%off my balance.. it wasn't a very nice email either. just hope they get the picture. I think the only good thing was that cash today is getting ivestigated by the consumer affairs in london.

I told one lady that they took enough money out of my checking account 3 years ago, and if they were legal they would send it to a 3rd party collection agency. At this point you would think they would have. does anyone actually get them off their butt with just paying what they borrowed.. that's what I'm wondering. to be honest with you.. I can't find any of my old paperwork or bank statements so I really don't know exactly how much I paid them. I've demanded that they send me something, but I know I'll never see it.

What you might have to do is call your bank and see if you can get your old statements on line or on paper. Now some banks will charge a fee :( but I would pass it along to the payday lender. It is worth it to see if the bank still have your statements on line or send a paper copy.
