Has anyone heard of first step financial or received a loan from them. I was contacted by them and offered a $5000 loan for $750 deposit to be returned after 1 year or if I am late in any payments to cover it. The loan was offered to me at 9% for 5 years.

I just had a similar experience with a company called Strategic Capital Resources... from what I can tell, these companies are SCAMS so be very careful! First of all, as much as I wanted to believe it, with my credit score, no one in their right mind is going to give me a loan at 8%. Research, research, research! From what I have read online, loan companies shouldn't ask for the insurance or the upfront payments. Good luck!

Yes, don't agree and send a deposit. Before I found this site; I was looking for a loan to help me payoff my pdl's...well I was approved and even received paperwork to sign; but there was a catch, they too wanted $$$ for a deposit...and when I called and asked they said you will get it back; just let's us know you will pay your debt by doing so. They then transfered me to someone else to get Western Union info; was so fishy, that I had to send to Canada...so I googled and researched and found out it is a scam. So I emailed the person who sent me loan docs and told him I research more and found out that they were a scam and wanted him to let me know that they were not....never heard a word...

thank goodness I didn't; but instead found this website....Thank you.
