I have a question about debt consolidation. I know that all your credit cards are included in it but can vehicle payments also be included? Has anyone ever had a vehicle payment included with the credit cards so they had 1 payment monthly to make?

Thanks in advance for all the help,
Johnita

You can not put a car in a credit counseling or debt settlement program. The only type of consolidation you could do to include the car is a consolidation loan. But you usually are going to have to put up some kind of collateral like your home or some land. ( sorry for posting this again, i forgot to log in under my account name. ) my bad

Most car finance companies will not work with your debt settlement/consolidation company. But you can try ... it would ultimately be up to your car finance company whether they agree to your proposal or not.

However, because they have the title to your vehicle, they really do have more "say-so" in the matter than your other unsecured creditors. After all, if they don't agree to your plan and then you don't make the regular payments, they can repossess your vehicle.

I think secure debt program will include vehicle loans, mortgages and home equity lines of credit and unsecured debt program include credit cards, personal loans (signature loans), medical bills, student loans, state and federal income taxes, charged-off accounts and accounts with collection agencies.
