Loan Shop Collections debited my account for $130. I do not and have not ever had a loan with them. Has this ever happened to anyone? I have not disputed with my bank yet, because I wanted to do my research. Thank God I had money in there to cover it.

slowjenn, do you have ANY pdls out? Maybe the are debiting under a different name than the loan you have out? I'm just guessing here. Usually the Loan Shop will debit as the Loan Shop; however, these pdls can be sneaky. Do you have ANY pdls? If so, with who? Maybe we can narrow it down and see who it might be. I would file a dispute with my bank right now, if I were you. But, that's just me.

I looked at my account today, and they attempted to debit $390 from one of my checking accounts. I have never had a loan with them! I am on the phone with my bank now, and they are investigating it and placing stop payments on this transaction. I cannot believe that a company could be so crooked!

Happened to me as well. My payment bounced and within 3 days I called to make payment arrangements and almost immediately after hanging up the guy called back and said that the company had already entered debits of $120 and $280 for two seperate days to come out of my account and there was nothing he could do, I would have to stop payment on them. To do this cost me $30 bucks per stop payment with my bank of course. the Loan Shop is really crooked.

actually boom, you can go see your bank manager
and get your account on a hard block.that means deposits only,no debits.that should put a crimp in loan shop's shorts. :D :D

Just a note - When you sign your loan agreement with them you authorize them to debit your account multiple times if you have a payment that bounces . . . In the above post, the company did exactly what their contract said they would do. You had not revoked authorization. The company didn't do anything wrong in that instance.

Cullins, do you have a pdl with any company? If you do maybe the company you have the pdl with is just using a diffeerent name to try to get money. Have you called your bank to dispute the withdrawal you could also put your bank account on a hard debit block so no one can take money out of your account.

Is it possible that these companies can actually take money just out or random bank accounts if a person has never had a pdl? That's very disturbing if it is I don't understand how they could possibly get by with that.

They just sent me a refund for 500.00. I'll take it since I overpaid by 960.00 it's better than nothing. They were actually nice to deal with. I spoke with William Mashburn who was very helpful, they even sent a cashiers check overnight. They have been the most reasonable for me to deal with.

I finally got things straight with them last week. I only legally owed them $15 and re-threatened them with the bbb. They sent me an email saying they would consider it pif if I would send them the $15 via moneygram. I went ahead and sent it to get them off of my back. Even though I had to pay for the moneygram, it was worth it to me. Now I have two down and two more to go!!!

I CAUGHT THIS THE DAY AFTER THEY TRIED TO TAKE THE MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT. I STOPPED THEM DEAD IN THEIR TRACKS. I CONTACTED MY BANK, PUT A HOLD ON ALL MY DEBITS, AND CHANGED MY BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER.
NUMBER ONE RULE: DON'T EVER USE ANY PAYDAY LOANS ON THE COMPUTER, THEY SELL THE INFORMATION TO ANYONE THAT WANTS TO PAY FOR THE NUMBERS.
THE PHONE NUMBER IS 1-888-265-5074, THE LADY I TALKED TO WAS VIRGINIA, SHE WAS A TOTAL B_ _ _ H, TELLING ME THAT SHE COULD TAKE ANYONE'S MONEY AT ANY TIME.
I HAVE FILED A FRAUD REPORT WITH THE FBI TRYING TO CLOSE THEM DOWN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

This mornign I have an email from Brad Weathers bweathers (@) ltsmanagement.com, with a CC to William Mashburn, that they are writing off my loan if I just sign and return the release!!!

I was struck. Several years ago, I was sucked into the cash loan vacuum. At the time, I was never smart with my money and found myself in one financial bind after another which just snowballed when I began taking out cash loans. Since then, I've paid them off and thought that bad time was in the past.
Flash forward to today... I have a much higher paying job and a new checking account. However, my car suddenly needed massive work and instead of turning to credit cards (which I worked hard to pay off), I decided to use my checking account. The payment left me a little in the mud. So to have some extra cash in my pocket, I decided to do a payday loan... knowing that I could afford to pay it back with my next paycheck. I filled out an app with a website who will send it to several lenders. I received several offers (of course- these people know they're making tons of bucks off of us) and settled on one with a company I thought seemed professional and organized (and most of the these places ARE NOT). I was approved and the funds were deposited in my account earlier this week.
Yesterday, I noticed a strange debit in my account for $400 which left me in the negative. I was bomblasted by this and spent the entire morning on the phone with the bank trying to determine who the charge was coming from and attempting to get help from the bank (they could do nothing...). Turns out the charge was from Loan Shop Collections. I had absolutely no idea who this was. All the bank could tell me was to wait until it posted, go to a branch the next day, file an affidavit, research will be done to prove it was fraud, and then I might have my money back in the next 2-3 weeks.
I did research all day yesterday. I finally went to the Better Business Bureau and found out that Loan Shop Collections actually is associated with a company known as XPress Cash... and this was one of the places I took out a loan from several years ago.
I have determined that this must have been a cash loan that fell through the cracks when I was attempting to pay the many I had off (yes, I learned a VERY hard lesson back then). When I recently filled out the application for a new cash loan, they must have received it too, saw that I was an old customer who owed them money, and sent the charge to my bank account.
Now... if I did indeed still owe them money, of course I should pay them back. HOWEVER, the original contract I signed would have stated they could debit my OLD checking account (which has been closed for over 3 years). I never re-signed a contract with them while I've banked with the new institution... nor did they ever contact me to warn that they found me and needed authorization to debit the new account number they found (which I would have then said 'Payment plan?'). Instead, they just routed the debit to my bank and today it posted. My mom helped me out by depositing funds yesterday to help cover the negative balance and cover a check and a debit that hadn't gone through yet... and she saved me from multiple NSF's.
I still plan to file a grievance with my bank. I also filed a complaint against XPress Cash with the Delaware BBB. While I don't deny that perhaps I owe them money, they NEVER had the authorization to take it out of my current account... nor did they contact me. I am livid and $400 short. After doing some research, I realized that what they did was illegal. They cannot
access a checking account without authorization... and again, I was using a different bank and account when I used them as a lender several years ago.
So there you go. Loan Shop uses a few other names as well. Most likely, if you did take out cash loans in the past, you wouldn't recognize the name 'Loan Shop' as you probably received money from another of their names or partners, like XPress Cash.
I called an actual 'The Loan Shop' in Midland ,TX yesterday to see if I ever had an account with them. They confirmed that I did with XPress Cash. I then left a message with an account manager they forwarded me to asking that she call me back immediately concerning an old account. I'm still awaiting a call back.
I'm determined to get the full amount back and instead set up a payment plan with them. They had no right doing what they did... and this week I've learned yet another lesson: Even though I know I'm now financially able to take out an emergency loan and pay it back immediately, JUST DON'T DO IT... EVER... AGAIN!!!

Yes,...this happened to me. A year ago, this jerk called me and tried to convince me that I had taken out a loan a year earlier. I knew that I hadnt. I had NEVER had any payday loans at that time. This guy rattled off my brothers name, his brand new wifes name,....even their babygirls name. He mentioned my Dad (who was dying of cancer at the time) and my Mothers name. He thought him knowing that info would some how scare me. Please,.....thats info you can get at any Dispatch of Public Records. Now,...a week ago,....an entire YEAR later,...they contact me again telling me I owe them $465 for a $200 loan. The guy a year ago told me I owed them $3000. The amount always changes. Anyways,...a week ago. I went online and ACTUALLY got a loan from some website. This "company" that claimed I owed them $ was "cherry-picking" loan sites and got my routing and account #'s. The very next day, they tried pulling out $320. I put a stop on it. Closed my account and reopened a new one. They have been calling and emailing me,...harrassing me. By the way,...CLOSE your account. They will keep taking money out over,..and over,...and over again until you put a stop to it. They are all bottom-feeders.

This company has scammed me out of $300. I have had delinquent payday loans but have never had to deal with this type of repayment plan. They are rude and threatening.
I don't really believe that i have ever had a loan with them.
I have spoken to an attorney, police department and sheriff's fraud unit. Keep them talking and tape calls.
Until they produce something with my signature no more payments
