Ok, an update on my pdl situation. Two of my four loans are taken care of. I haven't heard anything for two or three weeks from 500FastCash and Payday Yes. Suddenly this morning I received an e-mail from 500FastCash and had to laugh at its contents.

First, apparently my cash advance has been written off somehow, or at least that's how it looks. This, after I argued with them angrily, sent them the cease and desist letter, but they kept on harassing me, including calling my family, etc. I don't know if my letters to the BBB, FTC, attorney general, etc. worked; that seems to be the case. But what really cracks me up about this is that they actually think I would want to take out another loan with them! If ever take out another payday loan (doubtful), it wouldn't be with a company like theirs. So here's the contents:

Dear ,

Thank you for paying off your cash advance. Because you have demonstrated excellent creditworthiness, you may even qualify for more money!

However, we can only extend this offer to you for the next 5 days.

Just log onto our website, enter your username and password, verify your information and hit submit. Then you can be approved in seconds.

With 500 Fast Cash there are no credit checks, nothing to fax and your funds can be transferred directly into your account as soon as tomorrow find out how much more you can get!

But, you have to act today. This offer is only valid for the next 5 days. Visit us online or give us a call. Either way, we look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

500 Fast Cash Customer Service

So I checked on the status of my BBB complaint. Apparently it's been closed. It said on the complaint they sent me a letter, but I never received it, which is more than a little annoying. According to the complaint, 500FastCash still wanted me to pay $125 and they were stopping collections "as a courtesy" unless I didn't pay the $125 by the date they set, then I would still owe them $460. So how I ended up not owing them anything now (at least that's what it seems) is a real mystery to me. I don't trust it somehow. Not really sure how I should handle this either; if it's really written off or what. Here's the content of 500FastCash's response on the BBB complaint:

At the time of the application the terms and conditions were presented and she had the opportunity to print them at that time. She had to answer a question whether she understood the terms before we could even receive the application to process. In addition, there was a 48-hour time frame the customer could cancel the agreement without incurring a fee. Before each debit we sent an account summary, which explained the terms once more, and all of the options for repayment. This form was emailed at least 10 days before each debit; it also included our customer service number to ask any additional questions. We also have a direct email link on our website to answer any inquiries. If the customer had wanted to avoid additional fees, they needed to pay the full amount due on the first debit due date, which was in the original contract, as well as the account summary emailed to the customer very shortly after the funds were placed in their own account, for their own use, at their request. The original loan documents can be faxed directly to the customer once we are given a fax number to send them to.

As a courtesy only, we will stop all collections and debits on the account, and will reduce the current balance of $460.00 in collections to $125.00 The $125.00 must be paid via Moneygram by 05/02/08 (available at most Wal-Mart's)

Pay to: 500FASTCASH
Receive Code: 4308
City/State: Miami, OK
Account-COMPLIANCE

If not received, the account will continue in collections for the full amount due of $460.00 IN COLLECTIONS, per the contract.

Respectfully,
Compliance Department
