Ok guys..Here is my situation..

I went to some garage sales this morning with my mom. At one of the houses we went to I found a pair of black leather pants with the price tags still on..$140. I asked the woman running the sale what she would take for them, she said $5. They were my size, so I bought them.
I know a lot of you may be rolling your eyes, but I have always wanted black leather pants. With the right sweater or tailored shirt they are very dressy and classy. Plus I have a pair of black leather boots with three inch heels that I have never worn that would look fabulous with them..Plus, I am a small person. I'm a runner, so I am very lean, so these pants really flatter me, frequently I look like a 12-year-old boy from the waist down. I was very happy with the way they look..They looked sexy!!
Anyway, here's my question, and be honest folks, my mom is laughing her a$$ of at me right now, I can take ribbing! We are going to a Mother's Day buffet tomorrow at a nice restaurant. Me, my husband and son, my mom, and my sister and brother-in-law and their three kids. My family is loud and boisterous and we are always dogging each other. I love my sister dearly, but she is fighting the good fight with her weight (she had three kids!!) and always criticizes me for wearing my clothes too tight. (I don't!!!) I know she would go ape over me wearing leather pants, and she'd talk about it ten years from now! My mom and my husband, though, are BEGGING me to wear them! My husband says they look gorgeous, and my mom just wants me to rile everyone up. I put them on with a nice dressy gray tailored shirt, and the whole thing really looks great, very classy like leather pants should, not sleazy at all. I don't want to upset my sister, but I know my broth-in-law would have a great time with it!!
Should I do it? Leather pants are always in, right? Let me stress again, they are not tight and shiny like a rock star, they are butter soft and hug me exactly where the should. Advice please! And be honest, guys and gals!!

Volley..Thanks, I was kinda thinking the same thing..It's 3pm, so I guess linner? Dunch? I guess 3pm is late enough?

Debtcruncher, they do indeed make that lovely noise when I walk..And the three inch heels make me stand up straight..And with the heels I get to be 5'4 for one day!! But answer me this..Are leather pants sexy or tacky?

fins, honey, I do SO hope you're wearing those damn leather pants! If I was slim and trim and my husband thought I looked hot, my a$$ would have those pants on in two seconds!!! I don't care if it's Friday night or Mother's Day, baby! You put those pants on and walk in there proud! Hold your head high, girlfriend!

Seriously!

If you look good in them and, more importantly, feel good in them then wear them! It's nice to wear something that makes you look good whenever you can, and if you actually feel comfortable in it while do so then all the better!

I always feel like I'm chocking whenever I have to wear a tie. Guess it's because I'm claustrophobic.

However, I was planning on the same outfit today: leather pants, nice blouse, and 3-inch heels. I just hope we don't end up at the same restaurant.

Kidding.

I'm wearing the pants today!!! :D

Ron, I really hope we don't end up at the same restaurant..I don't want to take a chance on you wearing my outfit better than me!!

I'll let you know the results, love the noise they make when I sit or turn around..This could be a lot of fun.

Well, I missed the whole thing!! I hope you wore the pants today! It's Mothers Day-wear what you want to.

I have been to some swanky places and they wear all sorts of things and also the not so up scale buffets. I saw this woman, about 34 years old at one one year.
She was wearing a really tight mini skirt, a shiny red thing, with a short top that showed her belly, and she was a really, really big girl--looked hideous to me, but she and her husband didn't seem to mind it!!

Let the sis-in-law talk--if she has nothing better to do, it will give her something to do. Sometimes people have to put others down to eel better about themselves--I bet you look hot- be proud you can still dress and look the way you do!!

Happy Mothers Day everyone

Love ya Fins...karen

I have to ask, as I'm curious to see how you look, if you get a picture taken, maybe you could post it?

If you want.

There's no way I'd look better than you, FinsFan13. I'd probably look more like Frank-N-Furter from "Rocky Horror Picture Show." And I'm quite sure my butt would look too big in them.

Oh wait, but butt looks too big no matter what I wear!

Booo-hoo-hooo-hooo.

Hey Karen....your description reminds me of a woman I saw once, at an adults only dance, wearing much the same outfit - rather large woman, SHORT skirt, belly shirt that showed off her stomach....but to top it all off, she had her navel pierced and was wearing (of all things) a ring in her navel with a flashing red light in it....

She was definitely the talk of the evening..and not in a good way, unfortunately.

Fins, you are SO going to rock today! :D

Lol, you guys, I have a green barbell in my belly button, but I didn't let it show today!

Ron, yes, I had my pic taken in those pants, and I fully intend to post that pic.

I wore them, and my 16-year-old niece asked my sister if she could have a pair! It went over very well, I'm very happy. My sister didn't say a word about them, she pretended they didn't exist, but I made a room full of old men very happy!!

At any rate, you should have seen some of the outfits in there! We saw one woman who maybe weighed 600lbs in a short skirt and a shirt so low I thought for sure her**** were going to tumble right out! It was something to see..We also saw a woman in her eighties wearing skin tight hot pink polyester capris and a spandex shirt..

Arrgh! It burns, it burns!!

I'm trying to picture the 660 lb woman in the short skirt/low cut shirt and the 80 Y/O in pink polyester and spandex. I think I just heard something "pop" in my head!

Glad you had a good time, felt good about how you looked, and you made some heads turn. That's always good for the ego, whether you're married or not.

I bet your niece got "grounded" over asking for a pair of leather pants.
