Hello all,
When yo usettle and the company puts settled as agreed on the report how long does it stay there and how long is it a negative mark on the credit report?
I have a card that is going to be settled but they want settled as agreed and they won't budge for anything else. I am settling at 25% of what I owed.
Just curious.
thanks for any help,
Ray W.

i had a card that i paid as settled.my credit report shows PIS paid in settlement.i do not know if it will change, but it is better than showing still owed.maybe someone else can help with that last point about it remaining as PIS or you can change it.

All negative reporting accounts fall under the drop date per the fair credit reporting act. Seven years from date of first delinquency with a max reporting of 7.5 years in certain conditions. No account may be reaged except through a rule 5000 Fdic adjustment which would be handled only through original creditors.
