PDL Eliminators - are they denying for help?
Date: Thu, 05/15/2008 - 15:41
I'm in AZ, and I have 11 (eleven) PDL's. All storefront. I called PDL Eliminators, and they will take out my Enrollment Fee on Monday (I accept that as fair, it's not a free service), but I'm still dreading picking up my phone. I have left messages with all of the places with an answering machine, telling them I have entered a debt settlement program. Some of these places are getting mean, and are threatening suing me. The PDL Eliminators said they won't really do that, since it would cost the company more money than my loan is worth. And also to ignore the calls and messages. I'm sweating bullets here. Any information, or advice?

that sounds like good advice to me. I know it is hard to not answer the phone but just tell the people that you would normally talk to or that would call you the situation and that you are having to screen you calls.
The company that you are with are right they can not legaly take you to court and sue.

Good luck with this company, I have heard both pro and con on this board, about them. :?
hesitant to use PDL eliminators
Hi,
I'm in AZ too, and I have 7 storefront loans. I have notified a couple of companies to notify them that I am going thru PDL eliminators and they have stated that 1) they don't work with these companies because they have had bad reports about them, and 2) they (PDL Elim) do settlements, and this loan co. doesn't do settlements. So, I'm kinda leary about them taking money out of my account.

Still, I got you beat with 14 internet loans and at the worst of it 6 store front loans here in Arizona too. I have only two store fronts left to pay off and am working on paying off two internet payday places.
The store front lenders were faily easy to deal with except for Checkmate, they would not do a repayment plan, they wanted it all up front (but I could reloan right away then! ) Needless to say, they are the very last one I will pay. All the other store fronts were fairly easy to work with in setting up a repayment schedule. In fact, if I wanted, I could have a month inbetween payments. I paid as much as i could every paycheck to all of them and this Friday, i will pay off #5.
Now I am focusing on the interent ones.
How are you voting on Prop 200?

Good luck to everyone, we are all in this togehter. this forum is the best, so many nice people wanting to help and sharing their experience. I could not have done it without them. I too am making progress with my loans, all internet pdls are done with the exception of one and then on to my 5 store front. I know it will take awhile, but I am hoping by Spring to be pdl free.

While this is true for internet payday loans, storefronts are legally licensed and all it takes is a short time & less than $50 to file against you in the local Small Claims Court. This company is misleading you. I think you should go to these places and work out an easier payment plan as soon as possible. There is a lot of good advice on this board to help you in this matter.
Good luck!

Signed up with PDL Eliminators today!
I have 5 online loans and a 6th in collections. I signed up because I was having almost $400 every 2 weeks held from my checks in renewal fees alone and $131.00 per month for 12 months sure sounds better. I was trying to pay down on them but it is hard when you can't do that all the time. Life takes its toll with sickness, car repairs, needed time away and you can't always pay down. My wife & I have decided to NEVER ever do the PAYDAY LOAN thing again! They prey on the POOR and FINANCIALLY hurting. We are taking Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University and we have vowed to do it God's way and begin by giving back to Him first and allowing Him to bless us as He has in the past. We will be praying for everyone here!
PDL Eliminators
PDL is worthless. Point blank, they will 'steal' your money and will not work anything out on your behalf. It is such a shame you have these payday loan companies taking advantage of you and and when you try to get help, PDL takes even more advantage of you. Stay away, please. Try to work with the headquarters of the Payday loan companies. They cut deals all day long with people. Save yourself the trouble and avoid PDL Eliminators. Let me call out names so you know I am legit, Colin, claims he is a supervisor, Anita, Shirley, all very difficult to deal with. Good luck.

Shawn G.
PDL Eliminators
My husband and I have stupidly taken out 8 PDLs. Almost $600 every two weeks in renewal fees. We're trying to get them paid off a little at a time, but life does sometimes take over. I cannot believe how stressful it has been trying to pay these things off. I too took Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University--teaches you to get back to the basics of BUDGETING your money, and if you don't have it DON'T BORROW. I would like to hear from someone who has gone through PDL Eliminators and have successfully paid all their PDLs.

If your PDLs are Illegal..then you really dont need the PDL.service. Call the ones you owe and tell them. Arrange a payment plan with them. They will usually work with you. If they want to give you a hard time then mail or fax the sheets they have here. Also ask them to call your AG or you will have your AG contact them.
PDL Service should I go with them or forget it?
Recently I did use a payday loan service but they do offer installment payments every 2 weeks. Today I contacted PDL service to speak with someone if they can help me pay off this loan. Well The rep I spoke with wanted to charge me 150.00 just to enroll in the program. She then wanted me to close my bank account and open a new one so that they couldnt automatcially take the payment out. I asked her if there's another way I can keep my checking account open and she said no. Just wondering if I should just call PDL and cancel the agreement before they take the enrollment fee out of my account? Ive heard good things and bad about this company?

guest-what pdl companies are you dealing with? If they are illegal you can probably deal with them yourself. But it is true that the only way to stop them from debiting your account is to close it, so you'll probably have to end up doing that whether you go with a service or do it yourself.
