I was going through my old bank statements, trying to find and sort all the illegal PDL's I've dealt with over the last couple of years. I came across VC Funding, and I did over pay them and I know they are illegal. When I looked up their address, it jumped out at me immediately: 8700 Stateline Road, Suite 305, Leawood KS 66206. You see, I had just mailed a $70 money order to that same address, right down to the same suite 305, on Friday, May 16th. It's Total Lening Inc's current address. Hmmmm....

I had filed complaints about Total Lending and they had sent me to ICollect (which is complete HELL). Well I finally came to an agreement with Total Lending and we agreed on three $70 payments for the remaining principal balance of $210. Friday's paymet was the first of those three. Total Lending puled me off of ICollect as well. My next two payments are scheduled to be mailed May 31st and June 14th.

Now, after making the first payment, I discover this about VC Funding. Did VC Funding change their name to Total Lending and it's the same company - maybe for the purpose of situations just like this? It's the same suite # for crying out loud!!

I know with certainty that if I don't pay the remaining 2 payments with TL, they will send me back to ICollect, which I defintiely don't want, as I'm sure those of you who've been on ICollect can appreciate. But I know I overpaid VC more than the remianing $140 I owe with TL. I doubt VC will refund me, but this game that these PDL's play with changing names and DBA's is really maddening!! See MTE Financial. What do you do when one affiliate/DBA/former name owes you money and you owe the other affiliate? Do you have to deal with them separately - even if the NET amound is a REFUND TO ME??

Oh wow..Shades of Rio Resources! I remember them VERY well..They had about 10000 AKAs, all of them going to a addy in Oklahoma!

2 years ago I had 2 loans with Rio companies. What I did was send one letter to Rio Resources detailing both loans..I explained the laws, b!tched about how they broke them, and demanded a refund. I got it two weeks later, followed by a PIF letter from BOTH of the AKAs. Tricky stuff, isn't it? They never can play nice.

Well, after some more digging, I've discovered two other companies I paid off over a year ago - illegal fees and all - are also the same company as VC Funding and Total Lending. They are Arrowhead Investments and Power Funding Inc. I paid off VC funding around the same time period. I remember dealing with Katie at Arrowhead Investments on making arrangements to pay off all three companies: Arrowhead Investments, VC Funding, and Power Funding Inc. Arrowhead and VC Funding have the same address as Total Lending in Leawood, KS (same suite305!!!). I remeber I did have to send the Power Funding payments to somewhere else, but the arrangements were made with Katie at Arrowhead Investments. I think Power Funding payments were sent to Utah if I remember correctly.

Dang, and I still am supposed to pay Total Lending the $210, even though I overpayed the other three.

Sneaky little slimeballs.

Just because they have the same address doesn't mean it's the same company - Many pdl's will use drop boxes and such for their mail. It's not actually their address.

You can't connect these places through address alone. An example would be the 2207 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Deleware address - About 15 different pdl's have used that address for mail in the last few years. But very, if any, of them were the same company. It was just a mail drop. Same suite number and everything. But totally different companies.
