Their collections have been calling me every day at work for the past month. I've already paid them more than the original amount, but of course they want another $400 that they're never going to get. I don't normally answer the phone when they call, because I don't want to get in trouble, but my boss was out today so I picked up. Actually, I didn't know who it was when they called, because they've been disguising their number as 0000000000. Can they do this? Plus, I sent them a C&D letter about 5 months ago with specific instructions to not call me at work, PLUS I've told several reps to stop calling me at work--AND THEY KEEP DOING IT! I know that third party collections laws don't apply to them since they're the original creditor, but I though they had to stop calling me at work if I told them to. They guy on the phone today said they called at work because they couldn't get it touch with me any other way (I have a mail box, last time I checked) and my SS# had been "red-flagged" for collections. I told him the same thing I told everybody else: you're paid up, you're illegal, etc. He said he needed my attorney's number so he could discuss what was going to happen to me when I didn't pay them. I told him that is he could supply me debt validation and all of their licensing info that proved they could lend in my state, I'd work with them then. This guy wouldn't shut up! I finally had to say "Stop calling here or I'm going to press charges" he said OK, and I hung up on him. Can they keep doing this?

If they're illegal I doubt if they're going to follow the law by abiding by your cease and desist. I've heard other members say they've been called several times a day. It's maddening !! Too bad you didn't pretend you were the boss when you answered the phone, you could have told them you no longer work there. lol

I keep getting calls from 000-000-0000 too...hmmmmm and they are LEGAL??? Right lol. As for calling at work I did answer my phone one time and told them that "I" did not work there any longer and also had a few co-workers say that too. They were male co-workers so Im sure that was more believable and the calls have stopped. Also on my cellphone I changed my voicemail msg to the generic one and when they call I get all pissed and tell them I just got this number and to stop calling the old owner of this number lol

OK, now I am really pissed! I got that call from them at 12:00 yesterday, and today when I come in, I see that they called AGAIN at 5:30!!! After I told them never to call me at work again. This time, they left an automated message. They have called me about 1000 times and never left a message until yesterday, 5 hours after I told them never to call me at work again. Isn't this harassment?

OMG! They just called again! This time, they threatened to garnish my paycheck. "We just going to go ahead with the garnishment then" They said they had every right to call me at work since I owed them money, even though I kept telling this idiot that I coudln't receive calls at work.
