You'll have to check with Jason on the champagne. On the other hand... I've been up most of the night, tending the smoker. We've got pulled pork, dry ribs, chicken, and homemade sausages planned for today. Along with beans, cole slaw, spuds, cornbread, and stuff. And plenty of beer! Come on over, but come hungry. We're expecting 75-80 bikers, but there's usually some leftovers.

The neighbors are gonna love us.....

Thought I'd check back in, en route to bed. I started the smoker last night at about 9:00, put the pork butts in at about 10:00, and tended it all night and most of the morning, so I'm about shot. But I did manage to get a short nap about noon, then get up and meet folks. People are still hanging around, filtering out slowly [most of us have to work tomorrow, kids have school, etc.] But a grand good time was had by all, and nobody's leaving hungry!

We were expecting 75-80 bikers, plus a quantity of spouses, SOs, offspring, and assorted hangers-on. Well, that worked out to about 180 people, including 30 or so kids.

What we had: 9 pork butts [about 75 pounds total] a short case of spare ribs, and 25 pounds of sausage I made last winter. Figure about 130 pounds of dead animal. Plus fixins like you wouldn't believe. Plus 20 cases of assorted beer for starters.

What we have left: About enough for a couple of good sandwiches, and most of a six-pack. But a good time was definitely had by all.
