On the topic of tapping a neighbor's wifi... Don't do it without asking permission first. You could let yourself in for more trouble than it's worth.

Unauthorized access to a computer system / network can let you in for felony charges, depending on where you are, who reports it, and how. Just because it's unsecured doesn't mean it's free to the public.
I do this stuff for a living. Please, ask first.
