Someone will be along shortly to advise you further, however, you need to specifically tell them not to contact you at work because if I am correct they can contact you at work until you inform them that you cannot receive personal calls at work and only communicate by usps or email.

To be on the safe side you need to send them a notice withdrawing any type of wage assignments that maybe in the small print of the contracts. Make sure that you save a copy of this and give a copy to your HR department because more than likely they will threaten you about garnishing your wages. I hope that they don't but most of them will try to do this as a scare tactic. Some of them have been successful in doing so because the HR people didn't realize they weren't suppose to do this.

I don't know if interent pdl's are legal in Illinois or not but someone will be along to post your state laws for you.

Other than that, someone else with more knowledge will undoubtedly be along soon to advise you further. When you asked each company to debit you account for the full amount, was that actually part of your contract with them or was it a separate communication?

You need to check your contracts, because most all PDL contracts state that by signing the contract you agree to a wage assignment. Now, LEGALLY, wage assignments must be signed IN PERSON, so they really don't hold water - HOWEVER - many HR/Payroll departments are not aware of this.

So, check your contracts, and if it does state wage assignment, you need to revoke them ASAP and provide a copy to your employer. This will also give you support if they hit your account again (somehow)- so you have proof to show the bank.
