They want to get you on the phone so they can intimidate you. Sometimes they don't even leave a message because they are checking to see when you are home! I am deleting your duplicate post to avoid confusion
Thats what I thought.
I never pick up cause they call my cell when I am a work. If they leave a message then I may call back. Would it be wrong of me to tell them to send me something via mail but till then I am not going to pay anything. I don't even know what debt it may be.

Answer the phone, DON'T GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION, just ask them who they are, what is the purpose of the call, and what is their address. Then hang up. Send them a DV letter. Until they respond to the validation request, I wouldn't pay them a thing. It is a violation of the FDCA if they continue to try to collect on a debt if they have not validated it.

In the DV letter you can state that they only contact you by mail. This will assure that you have everything in writing. By including a cease comm clause, if they continue to call you, they are breaking the law and you have grounds to sue THEM. These CA are ruthless, so it is best to put everything in writing. And remember, when you do talk with them, DON'T give them any personal info. Make them give you their name and address.
If the DV letter does not have a cease communication clause, by mail only, then look at a few other DV letters. I have seen plenty on this website so I know that you will be successful.
