This afternoon I tried to contact Sonic Payday regarding money that I owe them. This is after sending two or three emails stating my wishes about repayment. After telling the "operator" that I wished to speak with someone in the payments department, she asked me if I was calling from the U.S. or Canada. After telling her that I was calling from the U.S., she transferred me. The phone just rang and rang. I eventually had to hang up because my other phone was ringing. I was wondering if anyone else had problems getting in touch with Sonic.

Kathy,

I will prefer sending all my requests in writing rather than talking to them on the phone. This way, I will have a proof of all the correspondence made and also get assured that they are receiving it. The mails should be sent certified with return receipt requested.

Do you know where that thread is about the name of the actual company representing Sonic...

Kathy

The company is actually Blizzar Interactive based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The corporate offices are located in Surrey, BC.

Hopefully you can send them by certified mail the information you are trying send/receive.

Regards-
Mike

Actually, Sonic Payday is headquartered in Malta. Please see my post which includes a transcript of a chat session with one of their representatives.

These people are definitely shifty. If you have accounts with them endeavor to clear them up right away. In the future stay away from payday loans if at all possible. If you find your self in a position where a pay day loan is your only alternative, then deal with a store front operation in your home town. This way you know you will be protected buy the laws of the United States and you're State Statutes.

While taking a payday loan over the internet or by calling an 800 number is easy, often these businesses are not located in the United States, and transactions are subject to the laws of the country where their home office is located.

According to the FTC, when you participate in a financial transaction that is deemed to have been executed in a foreign country you are under the jurisdiction of that country and subject to their laws and protections (if any).

YOU WILL NOT BE COVERED OR PROTECTED UNDER AMERICAN LAWS
(The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act to be specific).

Yes, that trip to the pay day loan store can be embarrassing, but sometimes a little humility teaches the best lessons. Also, please do not take out more than 1 payday loan at a time, end plan to give that loan your priority in repayment.

I just spoke with Sonic. I told them that I had been trying to contact them for days and they seem surprised by that. There solution to this is to repay the amount due on my next payday and reloan. I do not want to do this. What can I do? She said they were going to contact my payroll department to verify employment. What can they do?
