I currently have a loan with B.I.G. I took out a $300.00 loan and have paid back $225.00 to date. I am no in default, but not going anywhere. I live in Texas. How do i go about settling with this company?

Pay back the principal and then block their access to your account by either talking to your bank and getting all ACH debits blocked, or close your account and open another. This company is not licensed to lend in the USA - they are located in anothe country. They will try to tell you they are licensed in Nevada, but we have yet to see proof of even that licensure. And most states will require a lender to be licensed in the state they lend into.

You will go through a lot of phone calls from this company - they will threaten to have you arrested, threaten to call your boss (and may even try to do so), threaten to call the references you provided (and will again, try to do so) and will tell anyone they get on the phone that you are a bad person for not paying your debts..and they'll even try getting the people they get to answer the phone to pay the debt for you! They're sneaky, conniving and above all, ILLEGAL.

I'll repeat what I said above - pay them off the principal of the loan and then stop them from accessing your money. Otherwise they will continue to debit your account - forever.

thst'easy lujann, first answer these two questions.

1)how much borrowed.
2)how much paid total.

that second answer should be all money debited from your checking acct.let me give an example.

for instance,if you borrowed 300.00 and they debited 390.00 you should get 90.00 refunded to you in overpayment.there are no finance charges or interest allowed on illegal loans.this more than qualifies.

Just an FYI - This doesn't apply to this situation.

But in Texas most every lender is not a licensed pdl, they are a CSO. They do this to circumvent the above posted laws, and it's totally legal for them to do so.

But Route 66 is not a CSO either. I just don't want someone to read this and think that all internet lenders are illegal in Texas, because that is not the case. There are many CSO's that lend over the internet legally in Texas.
