Has anyone dealt with them recently? I have gotten horrible rude calls from them and also to my employer. I closed my checking acct. and i sent them cease & desist forms. I also sent another form about the Fair Debt Act & that they can only contact me via the USPS. I called today to see if they received them & the rude lady said Yes and i cannot speak to you anymore on this or contact your employer. Where will all this go now - will i hear from them or a collection agency. I am in SC.

Dear Awarncik,

As you have already sent the C&D letter to the collection agency, so they have no legal right to make any further communication with you. The only provision it has to further communicate with you is to inform you that all collection effort has exhausted or they are going to sue you. But generally, this doesn????????t take place.

Normally, the collection agencies stop harassing you and follow either of the following: -
???????Returns the debt back to the original lender
???????Passes the debt to another 3rd party agency

Below I am giving you the specific law mentioned in FDCPA: -

Regards,

Phoenix

I have requested to pay principal only of $300 to CTC. sent $150 friday and will send the other half on the 13th. I sent revocation of wage assignments and C&D letters several times by fax, email, and hard copy. They have not called me in days so far. No messages nothing! I am shocked. When they called me I spoke to an account manager once "SUKIE" and told her I was going to pay them in 2 payments and that was it!. I told her not to keep calling me. Of course they continued for a short period of time after that then ceased after I never answered the phones. I do not think they will have luck with a wage assignment in my job field. So I guess they gave up for now. We will see what happens. But not a peep in over a week!

I am also in SC and dealt with them. They attempted to send a "wage assignment" to my payroll. My HR dept called our company attorney who said that wage garnishments mut be court ordered and it was not valid. HR called me into the office and told me this and said to please tell them to quit contacting them. They continued to attempt to call HR and sent them another letter.
I finally mailed off a letter stating our state laws of wage garnishment that they are 100% illegal in this state except for court ordered child support. Any other personal or consumer debts were not allowed for wage garnishment. ONce I sent that letter I never heard from them again. I also copied the State Attorney General's office on the letter.
