I have to contact all my cc creditors and I'm just wondering what experience others have had with these. Who works with you and who doesn't?

I have:
Chase
Bank of America
MBNA (now BofA too)
Household Bank
Capital One

We have a hardship which I will explain to them but the bottom line is we just don't have the income to make even the min payments...

Thanks!

Capital One is one of the worst from experience.

Household Bank worked very well with me. I am out of work, had surgery and have cancer. I really didn't have to say anything to them and they sent me a pre-charge off settlement for almost $180 less.

Make sure you get something in writing and save it. I did pay off my capital one card and 2 months later, they sent me another bill for the annual fee. I called them and didn't pay it and they kept sending the bill and adding to it. I paid it off 6 months ago and closed the account and they fail to show it on my credit report. They really yank you around to try and get late fees on you.

Household bank shows it as paid in full- settlement.

as far as the other companies, I am unsure.

The hardest one for me was MBNA. They have taken me to court and won a judgement against me even though I could prove (even the so called "Nat. Arbitration forum" said they did) violated the Fair Debt Collection Act. They had called my work after being told I could not take calls, called me on my cell phone, called by relatives and asked personal info about me while disclosing that it was about a debt, tried to get info about me using my former married name (which I haven't used in 20 years) and am remarried. Disclosed to a person in my home about the debt, kept calling me after cease and desist letter, it goes on and on. I am at a lost and will be filing bankruptcy beacuse I have no other choice. MBNA is the worst most untehtical company out there and I hope that someday they go down in flames

OMG Capital One has got to be the worst. Even my bank said they were terrible. I was trying to get a loan last year to pay them and three other creditors off and of course could not get one due to my credit being shot. I am dealing with them right now and it has not been pleasant.
