I was unable to hire a lawyer to help me against a summary judgment and I need advice on how to represent myself in common pleas court. I defaulted on a loan several years ago with GE Capital and paid a collector through Feb. 2006. I have not paid since. LVNV, the alleged owner of the debt, is pursuing a summary judgment against me on Thursday in South Carolina. The original debt is real. But I have never made any payment arrangements with LVNV. How do I defend myself with the judge?

Yea...I think you should AT LEAST show up, too. That way the judge can 'see' that you are trying to take care of whatever debt you may have. NOT showing up can really 'hurt' you.
