i just had a phone call from redline recovery telling me they are trying to recover a debt, when i call the 866 phone number it hangs up on me, what is the deal?

i just had a call from redline and the "supervisor" got on the phone and changed her mind 3 times on our "settlement" then said i need to borrow money from family or by any means possible find 3100 so our debt can be settled otherwise on monday they will notify our county and they will be forced to collect the debt? they called my inlaws and said this was a criminal matter for my husband - help- how should i respond to these people monday? i dont have the money and they say they wont take payments

search the bar at top right.that will tell you all you need to know.this a bottomfeeder.debts are civil matters not criminal ones.get a DV letter out asap.send it certified mail return receipt.

Answer the phone. Verify you are the consumer they are seeking, verify your address. Inform them that calls to you at your employer place your job in jeopardy. Then inform them that now that they have made initial contact, they have 5 days to send you details of the debt in the form of a dunning letter. End the call. Do not engage tehm any further. When you receive their dunning letter, follow the DV process.

I had a call today from these idiots wanting me to give them another person's phone number. I asked them how they got my number and they said I was listed as a contact. I told the lady I would pass on a message but would not give them a number. She then attempted to threaten me, at which time I told her in a few choice words that I paid my bills and my name and number best be removed from her database or deal with my attorney. She just hung up! I would suggest to all to ignore these idiots and offer to settle with whoever you owe the money and cut these people out. If the creditor does not want your money directly from you then so be it, but I would not deal with Redline Recovery. From my one phone call from them (I owe no one a dime) and everything I have read on the internet so far, these people are are pure idiots!!!

I have you all beat. They sent me a letter yesterday, on behalf of LVNV Funding LLC, in reference to a debt that I PAID in 2007. I also had Resurgent contact me about this same debt last April, and they were able to determine for themselves that LVNV Funding LLC (The company that owned this debt) has their incorrect records. I even had the original collection agency that I paid, tell me to tell Resurgent that they were breaking the law by contacting me about this debt. And of course I was stupid and thought that I had cleared everything up last year, so i got rid of all my info. Now I have to go about clearing up this BS again. Any chance I can sue these morons and LVNV for trying to collect on a debt that was already paid?

Bottom of the barrel!! They told me I should get a job, even after I said I'm disabled and live only on SSDI. The guy said, "We have plenty of disabled people working here, in wheelchairs." He then said I wasn't disabled, but just trying to take a vacation. Threatened me..."we have ways to make you pay"...I told him to send me a letter but we'll see. From the sound of it, I doubt these people know how to write a letter. I told them I intend to send them a C&D letter and he said "I'm gonna keep calling, doesn't matter what you do, and every time you hear that phone ring you're gonna know it's me." How creepy. I have a hard time believing this is a professional organization.

Redline collections is a collections agency based out of Houston, Texas. This company is known for using illegal techniques to collect debts. From what I understand owners, managers and regular employees may have criminal backgrounds but they still enjoy the previlige of collecting for "reputable companies such as American Express. If you owe a debt make every effort to take care of it with the original creditor directly, or you eventually maybe sued for it.
