i would check with dell,if this is a CA hired
by dell.they can sue,but you have been making payments to them.suppose dell says they sold
the debt,this CA would have to prove ownership
of said debt,if this is a bottomfeeder trying
to make a fast buck then they legally can't
sue you.

Did the CA send you a letter stating that they are collecting the debt?
Have you sent the CA a debt validation letter making them prove they have the legal right to collect this debt? If not do so Certified Mail Return Receipt.
Also have you checked the local court to see if a suit has been in fact been filed?
Do so. CA will say this to scare you.

If they have sent a statement via U.S. mail, is this a confirmation they have in fact, bought the my balance from "Lowe's" and now have the legal right to file a law suit against me? They are not listed as a creditor on my credit report-what does that mean?
