Hi,
I payed off my 13 loans with a loan from a family member. I than reported all the companies to the BBB, got 1 refund from loan shop for total amount overpaid. The few others that responded said they never gave a loan to someone in New Jersey, my response my phone # is NJ, my bank is NJ and home address is in NJ. Never a response back from them and BBB closed it. Than I filed my complaints with the AG over a month ago and sent in all of my documents. and have had no response. I did get 1 email back telling me that it was not in their jurisdiction. Now I am wondering should I waste my time sending all this information to the NJ Dept of Banking and Insurance? I just want this nightmare to be over with!
Thanks

waterlu3 I am also in NJ and have not had any luck with our state agencies, they seem to say one thing and then if you call and talk to someone else they say something else-I had one woman at AGs office of Consumer Affair say to me did you sign a contract I said electronically and she said well that is what you signed. But then I call again and the next person has no clue what I should do but to file a complaint, but again the thing that protects us is the usury. I actually am going to see a lawyer in Cherry Hill that does deal with Fair Debt Collection Practice, Ususry Laws, etc. I am hoping he can help me with a few of the bad ones.

waterlu3, also I had to call around the AGs office and they sent me to my local consumer affairs office. One complaint I had with a CA in NJ for a PDL co., they sent me to CAs Bergen county consumer affair office. The office in Trenton is really just the hub and I guess there are so many county offices. I would call and find out what your county office # is. 3 months ago when I had called they told me to go to my local prosecutors office and file charges. It is to me illegal because of our usury laws, etc. but it is so vague. If I get any info. from this attorney in Cherry Hill I will let you know.

Thanks kolodin616, I actually live in Hudson county. I asked my question because what is the point of filling out all these forms if no one is going to do anything about it. I will see tommorrow if I can find out anything with the local consumer affairs office. Did they help you in anyway? Please let me know if you find anything else out.
thanks
