The US Department of Justice maintains a list of approved credit counseling organizations on the DOJ website.

It's best to only work with organizations on this list. Also, it may be helpful to work with a local organization (in case any problems come up with their handling of your funds, you can go after them more easily... local AG, local law, jurisdiction, etc).
If you can't afford the CCC payments, you should think about debt settlement. Again, you'll need to do your homework before signing up with a debt settlement company. You could also do debt settlement on your own (do a Google search for DIY Debt Settlement Kit).
