debt - unsecured debt due to bills

I am a disabled retired school teacher. I am Permently disabled. I receive $1037 per month. I am head over heals in unsecured debt due to credit cards, medical bills, adult children, and others. I know the credit card debts are around $1200; this is because my daughter in law helped herself to the card promising to pay me back. Of course, I have never seen a penny nor will I. Please give me some advice. I think bankruptcy is my only option. I think I am having a breakdown due to the stress. Hope you can understand what I have tried to say. Please help

Oh wait, I'm sorry, you didn't really state the total amount owed. I do have one suggestion for you, hospitals usually have a hardship program for people who meet certain income guidelines, that might be a start, give them a call and ask them to forward you a hardship application to your home address. I am sure someone will be along to help you shortly, so hang tight. :)

Bonita, credit card companies usually have a hardship program also, although I'm not sure if you would qualify with that small of a balance. It wouldn't hurt to ask them though!
