Hi. I have taken care of most of my pdls except for this one. I don't have the paperwork in front of me, but I am 100% positive this is overpaid by a few hundred dollars. I just received a letter from a collection agency in New Jersey for the full amount ($300). How should I go about dealing with them? Should I send the original letter I sent to CAN? I live in Ct.

Yes, it's an internet loan, and yes, I have bank statements showing I paid $830.00 on a $300.00 loan. Should I send this company a copy of my statements? The account is now closed.

Any thoughts on how I should handle this?

Should I include the fact that I have paid this loan or send a DV first and see what happens?

Hi - I just wanted to let everyone know about two phone calls. I have not called these numbers back, but through google have found out that they are a bunch of scammers. They have a very thick accent and they say I need to call them right back and if I don't all they can do is wish me good luck. The number they called from is 301-727-4153 and the number they told me to call back is 949-272-3902, he said his name was Charles. I don't think these are PDL's because I've settled amicably with most of them. Do you think I should call and find out what it is about?

Normally I wouldn't....but they left me a message on my voicemail at work too. Should I call to make sure it is not someone I legitimately owe money to?

no you shouldn't,here is what will happen.

a)he will threaten you with a bunch of crimes that are ridiculous at best.
b)he will demand payment of some ungodly amount immediately and want it by phone with bank info.
c)he won't say who he is calling for just that it must be taken care of right now.

that is what will happen if you call this thick accented doofus,so don't do it.

You're right.....if they were legitimate they would be able to provide an 800# and send me a letter.
By the way, I love this site, I have 2 pdls to go after paying off or settling with 9 of them!
It's an awesome feeling to have control over my paycheck. Thank you to all of you for all your great advice.
I'll keep you all posted on my heavy-accented friend!
A word to those who are getting these calls or have pdls...hang in there! There is a light at the end of the tunnel!!!
