Maybe we should have a new forum on this board started, listing all the these advance payment loan scams. That way when people find this forum, they can go directly to,THESE LOANS ARE SCAMS for example. We can add them as we find out thier new names. Its getting hard to keep up with them, since there seem to be so many now.The following is a list of some I found posted on this board,I may have missed a few. These are all scams, they will ask for money upfront for the loan, either by Western Union or money order.Do not send these people money, you will get nothing in return. There are many sad stories on this board from those who got scammed,Please read thier post before you think about sending anyone your hard earned money.

Has anyone heard of Carlton Financial Group? Are they one of the scam companies too? They contacted me, but only after applying for loans on line, and offered a $6,000 unsecured loan. Of course they wanted 3 payments up front. Awaiting contract papers to be emailed to me as this all took place today. Their email address is Carltonfinancialgroup.net, supposedly in Baltimore, MD. I couldn't find them listed with the BBB on line.

Didn't do Carlton Financial Group loan.....very shady. I'm going to close my checking account as soon as I get it to a positive balance, currently is -$650, and deal with the pdl companies individually. Unfortunately I'm going to get hit with $1,600 worth of pdl debits against my account again next Friday putting me further into a negative balance. I really don't know how to handle this. I hate I'm gonna get hit with $1,600 worth of pdl withdrawals at one time.

radec2, how will you manage to close your checking account if the PDL Company keeps on debiting your account making it even worse? Talk with the ACH dept and if possible, put a stop payment so that the company is not able to debit money from your account.

I guess if this can be the only solution in order to recuperate from the present situation.

Ok, so with all these untrustworthy companies around trying to make those who are in financial trouble in even worse shape, are there companies out there who will offer unsecured loans to the tune of about $25,000.00????

DO NOT deal with Carlton Financial! Like a few comments on the site I was desperate and they do take advantage of desperate situations. I lost over 2100.00 to these jerks and I am on a fixed income. The person who originally contacted me was "Samantha Hamid". She did not do the job so I was referred to her "supervisor" Michael Stewart",he again needed more money and then I spoke with his "supervisor" Mr Feltman". These people sound very professional and they do prey on the desperate. The company was in Maryland and they are now in Canada. All numbers have been disconnected and they have my money. I cannot get my money back. If any one has a good phone number for these scammers it would be appreciated. I have contacted Phone Busters in Canada and I plan to put it on tv in Canada. The number they have listed on the website is disconnected. They are using the name of a ligitimate company based in England. What Jerks!!!

I have run across a company called GA Trust Financial. Same story as the others only a different version. I was told that I was approved for a $15,000.00 loan but since I was in the "high-risk" category, I needed to send $1500.00 down and that the money would be sent to me within 48 hours. I did a search on them and it seems as if the money is never sent. However, I did request research done on them with the Better Business Bureau. Those of you that have been scammed need to report it and hopefully get some of these slowed down. The email address is bbb.org

Back in the day people would pull this same game and they were called a confidence man, now in the internet age it's the same thing but with a wrinkle and that is it is very easy for these types to make their plays and move on well before the law even hears about it. These cats operate all over the globe and most of the time the law can't even touch them so in saying all this....KEEP YOUR BANK ACCOUNT OR WALLET CLOSED. As the age old saying goes if it seems to good to be real then it generally is a scam.

One other note in this day and time no bank will make a loan unless u have pretty decent credit and it makes it hard for people in debt trying to get out but the best solution is work and pay them out, most creditors would perfer some money as to no money and they can't kill u or even eat you. I think the days of easy credit and loose money are coming to an end.....

I see your list of Advance Fee Brokers. I am currently trying to get money for college and this First Point Loans has called me about the application I submitted. Said that I was approved for 20,000 but I needed to "Secure" the loan by making the first 5payments now 1,150 in order for them to forward my money to me.I am very lery of this and have not done it yet. Can someone please help and tell me if this is a legitimate company or not.
First Points Loans
Firstpointloans.net. 866-467-5127.
The one difference is they say they will take the money out of my checking account and within 24 hourd direct deposit my loan.

Almost scammed by Horizon Lending Services. Filed report on ripoff.com. No information on internet about them except my report. Must be a new scam company or old one with new name. Usual scenario. Will lend $5000 with $900 upfront cost. I reported to Illinois state gov't consumer agency. That's where they have address listed Chicago Illinois.

I was contacted by a Mr. David White saying I was approved for a loan I applied for on the internet. I would need to secure the loan (for 5000.00) with an 800.00 deposit. After six months this deposit would be refunded or I could use it to make payments. The rate was fixed at 7% for 4 years. Sounded great - TOO GREAT. They wanted a copy of my drivers license, social security card and pay stub and my signature on the loan app. That made me nervous since you have no idea who you are talking to. I'm so glad I found this site!!!!If it's sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!!!!!

 I have yet to borrow money from a private lender for secured loans, but my little sister did recently. Just last week Sept. 5, 2008 she applied for a Secured loan for $10,000 through Westbrook-Financial (Westbrook-Financial.com). She was seeking a loan to pay for school related necesities. Westbrook supposidley matches the borrower with a private lender. The lender still has yet to be revealed. Westbrook's terms are as follows: Depending on how much money one wants to borrow, will determine how much the down payment will be. In her case she had to proove to them that she could come up with the first five payments which amounted to $789. When she initially sent in the down payment, she was told that she would be would be receiving a payment booklet in the mail and also the dispursement of th loan in full within 4-6 hours of them receiving the payment. It has now been a whole week and daspite her continuos efferts to make contact with Salina Tutt (Loan Agent), she has not received the loan dispursent and or a returned phone call or email regarding the agreement. When she calls the "24 hour" call center the calls are screened. The automated service automatically asks "who's speaking". Isn't that weird!!! Which means that her number obviously has been put on a list to not be answered. She did get through to someone once and when asked for her name, she was then immediately forwarded top the main voice mail system. Once again how weird!!!That $789 was her last and now she is left with nothing. She ws planning to use some of the loan money to buy books, but now she will have to drop her classes for this semester.

She needs to file a complaint with the FTC and her state attorney generals office. OMG! I feel for her! PEOPLE - KNOW THAT ANY LOAN COMPANY THAT REQUIRES A DOWN PAYMENT IS A SCAM! DO NOT DO IT AND REPORT THEM!

I just tried that website post, but nothing came up. In her loan documents does it say where they (Westbrook) is located? What state, country?

The company Secore told me that I was approved for $5,000 but I have to send $800.00 first before I could receive the $5,000. Are they legal I couldn't find anything through the Better Business Bureau?

Any loan that requires that you pay to receive a loan is a scam. This is called an "Advance Fee Scam." Think about it, if you were to go to a local bank, would they charge you money to GET money? NO!

Go to the BBB and you will see that they have warnings about this type of thing.

I would report it to the FTC and your state AG office. Hopefully, they will shut them down.

I wanted to add a company to your list. I lost over $1600 trying to get a loan from this "company". The "company is "LOAN SUPPORT SERVICES". I found them in my local newspaper in Brigantine, NJ. They are based in Canada and from what I found out through the BBB after I filed my claim, was that the company was supposed to have been out of business for at least six years and whomever I was associating with had been operating from their cell phone. I really took a beating trying to get my loan. All I wanted to do was try and get out of debt but it seems like no one is legitimate anymore. PLEASE BEWARE!

I TELL YOU THEY ARE A WORK OF ART THE WAY THEY CONVINCE YOU THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR MONEY BACK, WELL IT ALL STARTS OUT WITH A WEB SITE CALLED MCLEAN AND FORRESTER, IN WHICH THEY TAKE THE APPLICATION AND SEND IT ONTO A BROKER FROM WORLDWIDE LOAN CONSULTING, IN WHICH THEY SAY THEY WILL GIVE YOU A LOAN AND ASK YOU TO SEND A UPFRONT INSURANCE FEE WESTERN UNION TO THE PRIVATE LENDER, THEY YOU ARE GUARANTEED A LOAN WITHIN 12-48 HOURS WIRED INTO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT, IN WHICH YOU DO NOT GET IT SO YOU CALL THEM AND THEY SAY THE LENDER HAS REQUESTED ANOTHER FEE AND YOU WAIT AGAIN AND NO LOAN, SO I DECIDED TO ASK FOR THE FEES BACK IN WHICH THEY SAID IT WOULD BE RETURNED WITHIN 30 DAYS. SO NOW I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO THINK, BUT I GOT WORLDWIDE LOAN TELPHONE NUMBER FROM INFORMATION CALLED IT AND GOT A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL IN WHICH THEY HAVE RECEIVED OTHER CALLS AND THEY DID SOME CHECKING THEY ARE USING HIS HOUSE FOR A FAKE ADDRESS, SO THEY HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. I HAVE EVEN SAID TO WORLD WIDE LOAN THAT I HAVE AN ATTORNEY CHECKING ON THIS AND THEY STILL INSIST THEY DO HAVE A BUSINESS AT THE FAKE ADDRESS AND I WILL GET MY FUNDS BACK. SO NOW WHAT. THEY ARE STILL ANSWERING MY CALLS AND I DO SEE ON A BLOG OUT THERE SOMEONE HAD A LOAN BROKER BY THE NAME OF AMY WINTER, IN WHICH IT IS ONE OF THE EXTENSIONS THEY HAVE. SO NOW WHAT DO I DO? BONNIE

I am truely sorry that you lost so much of your hard-earned money. Have you filed police reports? I would also call the local office of the FBI and let them know about these crooks.
A good lesson learned that most of us learned with Payday Loans: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I hope you get every penny back.

are all companies that request collateral a scam? Is there no such thing as a secured loan with a $$ collateral? What is the difference between a secured loan and a secured credit card? How do you go about a converstation on the phone with someone like this?
Here is the place I am looking into
Interest financial services out of Michigan
interestfs.com
I am requried to put 10% down on my loan that will go back to me or the loan in 6 months. There are registered with the BBB in satisfactory condition. Please help!

The other place I am working with is beaumontinvestmentgroup.com
It is the same type of situation, only for collateral I can put a title against my house, or have a cosigner with a credit score of 720 or higher, and also the 3rd option is 10% down. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks[/url]

In California, the Department of Real Estate website (dub dub dub dot dre dot ca dot gov) lists the companies that have DRE "permission" to modify loans... add to this list any licensed California attorney, and that is where you should begin your due diligence when you seek help in California. Other states probably have similar laws, so check with your own state DRE.

My law firm has been getting more and more calls recently from homeowners that were victims of predatory lenders who put them into an unaffordable loan and now fell into the hands of those same people who sold the toxic loans but profess to be saviors... DON????????T BE A VICTIM TWICE!

Do your homework and THOROUGHLY investigate any firm before hiring them to save your biggest asset and the place you call ???????home.??????? These scammers are popping up like dandelions on a freshly mowed lawn. They advertise on the Internet, freeway billboards, radio, television, and print media everywhere. Make no mistake, in many cases, these are the exact same loan officers and mortgage brokers who fleeced homeowners the first time around. After losing their jobs with the crash of the mortgage industry, they have found a new way to make ill-gotten profits from hard-working homeowners through loan modifications.

In California, with very few exceptions (and attorneys are one exception), it is against the law for anyone to take money up front for helping a homeowner who is in default. Don????????t trust a company that begins its relationship with you by breaking the law.

Of course, this is one lawyer's biased opinion, but one based on many distressing calls to my office every day. And, yes, my firm does take cases against loan modification companies who have violated laws. This field is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing sections for our mortgage law firm.

Hi Guys
Well one of my friend was scammed lately on 28/01/09 by a company based in uk called Barbara Loan investments..I have no idea about this company...I checked there company's name in the BBB got nothing!!! Well they mailed my friend as she is based in canada and the company is in uk..they told her she was approved for 10,000 and told her to pay trnafer fee $640 thats around 370 GBP...like a stupid girl she went to western union and paid the money...but she ended up doin a mistake instead of sendin the money to uk she sent it to India have no idea why she did that? so the next day this lady Barbara emails her sayin go back to western union as her agent could not verify the payment because of the location..when she went there, unfortunately the payment was picked up in india...so i do not know and have no idea if this company is ligit or not? still they are asking for $400 and theya re assuring tht the loan would be transfered in the western union by 8am on monday.

Well, I was about to become a victim of a scam from LoanUnion.Net. I initially researched the web when I recieved the called stating that we were approved for a 6500.00 loan, but then he spoke with my husband and I and informed us that we had to send in 794.00 as insurance on a unsured loan. We spoke to him and stressed that he can ensure us that we will recieved the money immediately and to call him when we were ready to send off the money thorough money gram at Walmart.

I plan to write about this company on every website I can find.

Thank God--"he will provide"

Please add Hillsdale Financial group of Orlando Florida to the scam alert too. Hillsdale Financial group barrow their name from Hillsdale financial Services, LLC. Hillsdale financial Services, LLC is a legitimate company. The only difference in their websites is the net and com. The com is the legitimate one.
