Please help, I had a loan out in 2006 for $200 and repaid in roll over fees $350, now a guy is calling my work wanting $2000 something more, he also wants my supervisor and a fax number, I kept asking for a return phone number and told him I would check into this, he won't give up, please advise, I live in PA

GFS is totally illegal,if you can avoid talking
to them do it.when they call your work hang up
immediately.tell your co-workers this is a scam
ask them to say you no longer work there.do not talk to them if they call your home.they can't do
a thing except call and harrass.

Thanks, the phone keeps ringing, and I'm just
letting it go to voice mail, what can I say
or can i send them something asking them to
leave me alone and stop calling, I'm sure I
have stuff at home, but being I'm a work,
OH man are my nerves shot.....
even if I can stop them from calling here and
when i get home review my stuff and then see when I sent out letters and or e-mails to them. how can they actually expect me to pay
2000 more dollars, they already made 150. on
my loan

they can't do anything,they are overseas.have
your co-workers start telling these doofs you
no longer work there.after a couple of days the
calls to work should stop.do not believe a thing
they say on your v-mail.it is all B.S.

so should I try and send them something today again, or wait until I get home and pull out my stuff and see what I sent in the past, but I don't want to send something via fax from my employer, I don't want them to trace back the fax number, cause the guy kept wanting my fax number
I just don't want them calling my employer or my references, I'm going thru enough crap right now and don't need them harassing me.
I just don't know what to do,

have your co-workers do as i advised, cause these illegal cretins will call.tell your references this is a scam to commit identity theft.that should help, but for a little while they will call.just don't believe it or let it get to you.

oh man I'm trying, but now everytime the phone rings, my stomach turns, I cannot believe that they actually think I'm going to pay $2000. more on a $200. loan. I haven't heard from them for so long, they just threw me so off guard, now I can't even think straight, and you know how much fun that is at work when you can't even concentrate
does anyone have a actural address and or fax number for them

thanks, I also went and googled their number
and that makes me feel somewhat better, seeing the other remarks on there
about how illegal they are and there was something about the FDCP laws, do you know anything about that, can I just google that
and find out what it is about

the fdcpa they claim doesn't apply to them, because they are the OC.

what is the OC
so tonight when I get home, and pull my info.
asking them to stop and that I have already paid as much as I'm going to pay - I should refax it to them and ask them again, NOT to
call me at work, or contact my references.

thanks for all you help
I'm feeling a little better, right now I have more important things to worry about then some overpaid debt from 2 years ago, that they are trying to collect on again.

It is sad that the U.K. government has not taken the proper steps to shut these guys down. The best thing you can do is just hang up on them when they call. Also advise your employer and co-workers that a foreign scam artist has gotten your identity and is trying to extort money from you via harrasing telephone calls. Ask them to hang up on these scam artists if they call. This company has no legal avenue to ever collect money from you and they will continue to harrass you until they think you won't pay them. I would also advise that you change any phone numbers that they have access to if you can.

If you ever want to call them for any reason make sure you do it from an untraceable line. I would recomend using skype iphone calling over the internet or a pay phone. You can call 800 numbers for free with either and there is no return number to trace. I actually felt like screwing with them one day so I found a free telemarketing software dialer that was a repeater. I picked out some mp3 file I had as the message and set it to call over skype for a couple days. When I was listening in I could tell they were getting aggrivated but there was nothing they could do about it kind of like when they kept calling my wife over and over. There is really no reason to contact them in any manner though because it will do absolutely no good. I would not provide them any information at all. That means no faxes, no emails, no letters and no telephone calls.

Oh thanks to all of you so much, I feel better now, my shakeyness is starting to subside and now I am getting P.O., I just wish I had some courage to really let these people have it. I can't believe all the things they say to try and get you to cave in, but I did suprise myself - I just kept asking for a phone number from them and he just kept asking for a fax number or to be transfered to my supervisor, i kept thinking to myself - just hang up - what's the worst that can happen, but I was just so wrecked out, then i finally just hung up, and guess what I'm still here, nothing happened, other than my nerves being shot.......

thanks again
it has been a godsend to find this place
