Hey all !!!
Date: Mon, 06/23/2008 - 07:53
But yesterday I got a call from my daughter (I was up at the cabin) and she told me that she hit a deer on sat. night driving her boyfriend home :x He had called her to come and get him because he had a flat tire and had no spare :x This was 10:30 at night and about 20 miles from here but yet he lives another 45 mins. from where she picked him up from. And they were yapping all the way until she hit the deer. Well her windshield is shot, the corner pannel, and the drivers side back door is done. She is ok (thank god) but she doesn't have full coverage on her car, so she has to foot the whole repair bill. He offered to pay for part of it but she said no  I cannot get her to understand that if she would have been home her car would still be ok and that he should pay for it because of HIS stupidity of not having a spare tire (how stupid) But anyway I called around for some good deals and for all the repairs will come to only $300 :D And a few favors. So she got by lucky and I don't think it would be too much to ask for $150 from him, do you? Because she would have never been out at that time if it wouldn't have been for him.
Then last week I was home and I heard something crying outside. I got up and looked and OMG it was a tiny baby kitten. She was soooo cute. Well you know the animal lover that I am I had to go and catch it because I didn't want it hit by a car. So now we have yet another member in our family lol. And hubby had said the last time we brought one home, that anything else with 4 legs comes in the house, he is going to leave. Well they are BOTH still here lol. She is going to the vet on wed. then we will know how old she is. I figure about 4 weeks old. But we had so much flooding around here that I think thats why she was away from her mother. I just fear for the others in the litter. But she fits in real well here and has made herself to home. My daughter just hasn't named her yet.
So yet a few more thing to add to my busy life lol. But things are going well here and I should be back on more very soon. At least after the party. So mid. July expect to see more of me. I will post a pic. of the new baby soon  I just left my camera up at the cabin :x
Take care all and you are doing a great job!!!

Good to hear from you. Glad to hear no one was hurt in the wreck. I cannot even count how many times I have almost hit a deer with them coming out of seemingly no where!

Good to hear from you! I really miss going to the cabin! Glad your daughter is ok, and no, he volunteered to help pay. She just needs to go back and ask him if he would foot half of it, like he offered.

I agree with bossy it's the least he could do for her. I know where you are coming from with the kitten, I would have done the same thing that is why I have 5 of them.

Well, a friend gave me a magnet that reads "Cats are like potato chips, you can't have just one." Which is pretty much the truth. In addition to rescuing my little man "Velcro" a year ago, I rescued another dwarf cat earlier this year. She's full grown and only weighs a little over 5 lbs, or at least that was how much she weighed when I got her spayed. She's probably a little more now.
I call her "Teensy." I think one of the women in that movie "Ya-Ya Sisterhood" was called that.
She's smaller than Velcro, but can sure give him a run for his money when they play.
I'm glad your daughter and her BF are okay, and weren't seriously injured. And YES, he should pay for at least half, if not all of the repairs. She wouldn't have even been in that situation if she had not been helping him out because he didn't have a spare (also his fault.)
And BTW, where do you guys live where you can hit and almost hit deer in your car? Waltons Mountain?
Just kidding.
I live in a pretty rural suburb of Jacksonville, and cannot remember even seeing deer by the side of the road in recent times. Even back when I was a kid and it wasn't so developed. I've seen the little "whistle" things you can get to go on your car that supposedly scares them off, but I just never thought they were of any use.
Guess I'm wrong.
lol Ron I am so glad hubby let us keep her. I told him weel seei
lol Ron I am so glad hubby let us keep her. I told him weel seeing as you won't let me have another dog, you are going to be stuck with a bunch of cats. lol now my sons cat and the new one are best buddies. It is too funny watching them run around. When we first got her she wasn't very stable on her feet and kept falling over. Well now she is jumping all around the room.
We live in Northeast Wisconsin and there are deer everywhere right now. Since the floods last month they are still looking for dry ground and food. I live in a very small town and I even have them in my backyard at times.
The BF has not paid anything for the repairs to her car as of yet. He says he will but he has to find a job first. A 23 year old with no job  Plus the car he was using wasn't even his. He has no car. No wonder why she is always driving and he pays for nothing :x But in her wods "he is better than all the others I have dated" What she means is better looking at least the others worked and not sponged off her.
