a pdl settlement company after adding up their fees it\'s like paying another payday loan company
has anyone heard of langhorne debt solutions?
Langhorn debt solutions , PDL Assistance and any other Pay day l
Langhorn debt solutions , PDL Assistance and any other Pay day loan settlement companys charge basically around the same fees. By the time you pay their fees you wend up paying back 70%-90% of the original debt. But the do stop the cycle of ludicrous interest.
PDL Assistance or Langhorne or any other pdl settlement company will work with you to establish a savings program that will be used to pay off your debts over a period of usually 6 to 12 months. Both PDL Assistance and Langhorne hold the money in another account so they make sure you don`t spend it when you need to be saving it to use to eventually settle with the pay day loan companys. You will have one monthly payment and the amount you will pay back is typically between 30% and 60% of the amount owed when you joined the program. These companies have bills to pay just like you so yes they charge some fees up front and it could take 60-90 days sometimes for your first settlement. You will save more money doing this on your own and this site has all the info you need if you want to try and do that. But if you don`t want to deal with the hassle of settling on your own you may want to hire a company like PDL Assistance or Langhorne to help you but expect it to take a little longer to rid your self of the debt because you will pay some fees to these companies who do all the dirty work for you. Hope this helps
:D

Langhorne Debt Solutions
I am thinking about dealing with this company. I have not even signed up or sent paperwork and I keep getting emails that they are going to debit my bank account which I have not even provided them. I did check and they have about (3) reports with the PA BBB and are currently not a member of TASC. I wish I had more info on these people.

Langhorne does work, but I would consider doing it yourself. It just takes a little leg work, but you can do it. Then again you have to do what is more conveinent for you. Best of Luck! :D
Question about closing my bank account
I have payday loans that I cant afford to pay anymore. I was given advise to close my account and try to deal with the PDL CO. directly. Since the money gets deducted from my account by ACH, I f I close that account and get a new Acct with the same bank whats goingto happen? Can they reopen the account that the ACH's were coming out of because the PDL CO. keeps trying?

Before closing your bank account, you should read this:

If you start a new thread and post your PDL information, you will probably get some good advice about dealing with your situation. We need to know what state you are in, what PDL companies you owe, whether they are internet or store front, and the amount borrowed and amount paid to each.

mjm.. . .when you close your account make sure that the bank will not reopen it if a debit hits it. Also, DO NOT let the PDL get wind of your closing the account until AFTER it is closed. If they have an inkling that it is closed they will go in and take whatever is available. Follow the advice of the good people on this board and you will be abel to break the cycle. Keep us posted.

Thanks everyone! I dont deal with Langhorne. I spoe with them today and they told me the 1st thing I need to do is close the account and reopen a new one. However, after reading the threads about ACH being reopened it scared me! I live in NJ and bank with PNC. I have 3 payday loans out (Internet Based) have probably paid them back 2 times already. Total debt is about 1400

mjm. . .I was directing that question to RWILLIAMS. Alias is right. If you can start your own thread it would be beneficial to all. But before you go, aren't PDLs illegal in NJ, Yes, closing your account is the first step, but please read the sticky regarding the same. Just make sure that your bank will not force open your old account if anything hits it. When you start your new thread, could you list the PDLs, how much you borrowed (individually) and how much you have repaid (individually). I see that you already named your state and that they are internet. that's a good start.
PDL assistance
How do you go about dealing with the companies on your own? Are they usually reasonable? Who would you even ask to speak with?
Thanks

well a few of them had been calling me refusing to contact langhourne. so i am dealing with those companies first. one thing langhourne teach me is that they pdl companie want to get those loans off of the books. so you need to let them age. the longer they age the more they are willing to work with you. since i can only handle a couple of the smaller ones at this time i can not dwell too much on the others right now. i
after that i will start calling on the bigger ones one at a time.
now that i have a new bank account and purchased a prepaid debit card (that's how they get paid) i am slowly taking control when they did not want to work with me before on a more reasonable term. i live in a state where pdl are prohibited and i am told will not and cannot have me arrested for those loans the payments will be on my terms now.
hope that helps just call them ask for a manager usually they have an internal recovery dept that handles that before it goes outside. i am no expert on the matter just only going by what i have experienced.

pdls are prohibited in NJ (I live in NJ) but a word of warning, be very, very careful with PNC. awhile back I banked with them and my payday loans ran the NSFs up to almost a thousand dollars. all of which i had to pay back. they were very hard to work with and i didn't know at the time to ask for a hard block. if you close the account, the ACH will push it back open. that's what happened to me.. also, if you have an NSF, they will charge you a daily over-the limit fee. I would go directly to a branch manager.
payday loans
what if you have already paid the payday loans back three times or more the money you have already borrowed? what options do i have then to get out of debt with the payday loans?

Just a word of advice re" Langhorn-- apparently they do not work
Just a word of advice re" Langhorn-- apparently they do not work with all PDL companies. I have been where you guys are. There is NO reason to give somebody like Langhorn extra money to drag this thing out when you CAN do it yourself for FREE. Immediately close your bank acct & if necessary- open one at another bank, but do not tell your PDL companes what you are planning to do. Like others said, they will immediately clean out your acct. before you have a chance to close it.
This forum is written by those just like you, who have been & some still are in PDL hell. We all understand what you are going through & are there to help ease the pain. You CAN do this!!!!!!
