Why are all of these debt collectors so IMPOSSIBLE to work with? They are rude, degrading, manipulative and deceitful. Do they really think we have the 2,000 down and 600 per month payments as one once suggested to me. I had to tell them you have got to be kidding me. Now, regarding Zakheim, I surely hope they are fair to work with because they now have my Discover account because Discover lied and said they would keep my account open so i paid the 180 devotedly every month and lo and behold, Discover closed my account. All these debts are due to a divorce, so my new motto is, stay married because the aftermath and devastation of a divorce are way worse than a bad marriage. Another collector/lawyer has put a 4,000 visa balance at 11,000.00 now. These are all accounts i have tried to resolve in the past until they lie or get degrading or insist on Bank account numbers which i have since learned to NEVER give out. So, any and all feedback on Zakheim is appreciated. I wish the authorities would not allow the collectors to charge us the 11 interest, i could not get them to not do so. Also, i wish their behavior would be regulated. They simply should not be allowed to verbally abuse and mistreat people that are just trying to make ends meet and are already very fragile due to their financial situations. These are the lowest bunch of people i have ever had to deal with. I dont know how they sleep at night. They also need to learn that if we make them an offer they need to accept it. If we can only make payments, then take them instead of insisting on a huge down payment. They are all judgement happy. i think that is all they really want, i dont believe they even want us to pay the debt. sorry so long, this is just a bad subject. Many lawyers have told me to just ignore them all, why would you want to give your money to such scum, to quote. they are right.

Generally collectors are impossible to handle as they behave unprofessionally. This desperation for collecting debt also crops up due to the very low rate of debt recovery on their part. A survey showed that out of the total debt collection agencies succeed to recover only a mere 16%. The lower the recovery rate, more is the harassment techniques adopted by the CAs.
I don????????t think that just ignoring them would be an answer because many a times it has been seen that they have sued the consumer and also got default judgment against them. So, the best way to counter them is to send a debt validation letter to them.
