and find it very confusing.

Give it time. Credit repair is like learning a new language. Best bet is start reading the stickies in each forum of interest to you. Download and print the fdcpa and learn it back and front. Learn you state's SOL and find out if they have any consumer protection laws that parallel the FDCPA. What is your primary goal?
