Has anyone ever heard of these people? A woman by the name of Michelle Davis called threatening me that an investigation team was going to show up at my house and office to criminally investigate me for taking out a payday loan. I have paid all my payday loans years ago.

now instead of thick accented men they are having women call.
they can't and won't do anything except call and stupidly harrass you.try to avoid talking to them if possible, take notes
of all the numbers on your caller id.do not even think this is
anything but an illegal bottomfeeder.

I figured she was a bottom feeder. I kept telling her that I needed to know who I had taken the loan out with and she kept saying the US National Bank. I told her she had to validate the said debt and she told me NO. She then told me that she was going to download my case into the Texas Courts at 3pm. I asked her for the case information so I could track the criminal case against me. She told me she was going to get my boss involved and tell him that I commited a crime on my company's computer. I finally hung up on her.

Guess you're in Texas. Get a tape recorder at Radio Shack and start recording. Everything she said is pure BS but play along with her like you're scared and stupid. See if you can get a few more nuggets like that and then when you file the complaint with the TX AG, they can take care of her but good. You might actually have some luck suing them under the deceptive trade practices section of the TFC (I think its Chapter 17) which allows for treble damages and court costs.

Edit: If they're calling you at work, clear it with the boss before you record there

They contacted my hospital in NC saying one of our employees was going to be arrested and was a man that went by travis griffin with an arabic accent. I can tell from law enforcement experience it was bogus. They said the hospital would be liable for harboring a wanted person for check fraud. be careful

yes I took out a payday loan and he told me that some company is filing suit on me for the misuse of my social security number. It's really difficult to understand him he has a foreign accent and left a phone number but when I looked it up it just says land line. I feel a little terrified and wonder if he has a legal right to do this. Please help me anyone!!!

Im in NC. My ex took out a payday loan but didnt pay it back and they claimed they will put me in jail the police will be at my work in 1 hour to take me to jail and this will cost me 6000 to 8000 USD if I dont pay them the 725.00 that I owe... so I called the payday loan place they said it was only 300.00 but I had to go through the collection agency I couldnt pay them... then I came here and read this and now I'm scared to death I dont know what to do... any ideas? Yes, I gave them my debit card number.. I have since called and cancelled that card and put a fraud block on my account.

well two points.

1)this is your ex's debt not yours
2)pdl's are prohibited in NC.

they cannot and will not do anything to you.personally i wouldn't pay it and tell the CA and the pdl to pound sand.file AG complaints as well.

Received a call from a Tom Parker claiming that I took out a payday loan in March 2007, told him that there was no way that could have been done. Payday loans are illegal in the State of GA. Told him to prove it that I took out the loan, but kept on asking me all these stupid questions in which was the information that was filled out for a payday loan. I finally told him that if he couldn't prove it, then sue me and hung up. So don't let these folks get the best of you, their full of BS.

They started calling me on April 3, 2009 at work. They called again on the 10th. I decided to do some investigation of my own via the internet and found that they are scammers. They called again this morning, and I informed them that I knew this is a scam and to no longer call me. I also filed a complaint with the Attorney General of my state, as well as with the FTC.

I also received harrassing phone calls. He told me I owed on a bad check that was written back in 2005. That has since been paid off. His name is Officer Shane Watson and he said he was going to call my Supervisor. He did. My Supervisor told him she was going to report him to the Attorney General -he hung up. He called me from 772-209-7540

I am having the same experience right now with this US National Bank and that they are going to file charges against me and come to my work to arrest me. They will not even tell me the actual company I got the supposed funds from. Am I supposed to just ignore them and they will go away? I am afraid they are going to call my husband's employer and he would lose his job.
