I was residing in Wisconsin when I took the loans out with MTE financial and USFastcash. While my loans were still active I moved to Illinois and I updated my new info with both PDL's.
My question is if I want to file complaints with the Attorney Generals office, do I have to file in Wisconsin where I was living when the loan originated or do I file with Illinois where I'm currently residing.
Wisconsin does not have a cap on the interest rates for PDL's but Illinois does.
I need the attorney generals help getting these off my back, just not sure which one to use.

i would think since you updated your info with them, you should
file with the state you reside.which is good for you, because
lisa madigan the IL AG is aggresive when it comes to pdl's
and collector and/or creditor harrasment.

I disagree - It would be the place you were living when you took out the loan that's laws would apply.

Since the loans were already going when you moved, it's a totally different situation then normal. The companies are not required to stop an ongoing loan just because you move.

The state you resided in when the loans were taken out is the one that would matter.

Yes, even if she updated her info. They were still ongoing loans.

It doesn't matter if someone moves, it would only matter where they lived when they took it out.

Although, if the loan gets paid off, and they reloan to her, then that changes the situation. In that case, IL would apply. It's where she lived at the start of the transaction.

For instance, the company cannot just require her to pay in full on any day of the week because they find out she moved to another state. They have a contract. Until that loan is paid off, the WI laws stand.

That's what I thought....I'm going to file the complaint through Wisconsin then. MTE and USfastcash are illegal anyway and never charge anybody what they are supposed to be for their state.
I also had a loan with CashnetUSA and when I updated my information with them they wouldn't allow me to do my normal extension. I had 2 extension left with them and they wanted me to pay the full balance on my next paydate. I figured it was because I moved to Illinois and this state does not allow rollovers. I didn't think that was fare since I had started the loan in Wisconsin and I still had two extensions left.

I have one with MTE and USFastCash.
The one with MTE I blocked already and I have paid them $193 on a $300 loan already. I told them they are only getting $107 more since they are illegal. I have filed a complaint with the bbb and the ftc and Wisconsin dept. of financial institutions on MTE. Haven't heard anything back yet. My debt managment program sent MTE a payment and the check didn't come back..so a few more payments and I'm going to consider them PIF whether they like it or not.
CashnetUSA agreed to $107 a month on a $762 balance
USFastcash is who I'm about to battle with. Since I'm not in a postion to block my account for the next payment due on 7/15 I put a $30 stop payment on their transaction and I'm going to hurry up and switch all my other stuff to another account so I can put a hard hold on the account usfastcash is debiting. I read in their docs, that if the ACH is returned they will generate a check and try to put that through.
I can't wait to be done with these things...I hope they all report me to teletrack so if temptations ever set in again I can be rejected..lol

I was duking it out with UFC as well and I got the standard blah blah blah about a papercheck as well. I went straight to Intercept, told them they were being asked to debit on a revoked account, they emailed them, I emailed them telling that I had spoken with Intercept and next email I had was a PIF. If applicable, I would give Intercept a call, ask to speak with Cindy.
