The account I referred to earlier with Accounts Receivable, is now with 1st credit of america and boy are they rude. John Puckett called and told me to quit stalling and pay my debt and I asked what for and he stated that was none of my business. I stated to him that this was the first time I heard from them and I wanted a debt validation letter sent and John proceeded to tell me that I was a theif and account was going upstairs tomorrow for warrant issued on my husband I stated to him that he can't do that without going through the courts and he stated that they didn't have to go by the fdcpa laws. They are going to verify employment and tell his employer that wage garnishment was to happen now. I told him that the conversation was being recorded and he called me a f***en b***h and that I wasn't taping the conversation and I told him that the sheriffs department will be contacting him and hung up. Then 10 minutes later John Puckett called from Geckotech LLC 312-604-3747 and told me that I was a liar and didn't have the guts to call the sheriffs department. His mistake was that the officer that repsonded was standing in my kitchen and heard him yelling at me. The officer is making a report and calling the company now and charges are going to be filed tomorrow for John's conduct. Who do I file a complaint with against this company?

Start with your District Attorney, the State Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission.
Also, the number you posted, 312-604-3747, is coming from Chicago, I dont know where you live, but I would also file a complaint with Lisa Madagan, the Illinois Attorney General.

Here are contacts for her three main offices:

Yesterday I filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General and they were very interested in this company. They used to go by Alyon Technologies until they got into alot of legal trouble and changed their name. I also filed complaint with the Tennessee Attorney General and the FTC. Sent copies of the police report and copies of the the tape recorded conversation with John. THis is abuse and I am so tired of it! Why is it when a person hits hard times, does the world have to come crashing down?

Well, not only do you have a case with all of those places you contacted, you also have a legitimate lawsuit, and since you have taped the conversation, that will help. check out this link:

naca.net/db.php3

It has a list of attorneys in your area who should take your case on contingency basis. Meaning, you will not have to pay unless you get a settlement, which you clearly would. I had a similar case and contacted an attorney from the list from my state, and have already been offerred 5000.00 to settle, but my attorney thinks its worth more. Its not the fact of getting money from them, its doing everything you can to show them what they did was so wrong!

I too am being harrassed by 1st Credit of America. They are rude, rude people. Ms. Bullard is the one calling telling me that I have to pay or they will come and get me, which I told her she was full of s***t!!!!!!!! I am going to call the AG of Illinois to report them. Who do you specifically talk to in order to file the complaint?

Hi Shbear

You can fill the complaint form at the Illinois Attorney General website and a confirmation letter will be sent to your through regular mail. The complaints are processed by the appropriate departments and legal actions are further taken.

You can also visit the attorney general office in person and submit your complaint at the reception desk.

Regards
Roxette

Hello Mom of Twins,

As a professional debt collector myself, yes you are correct in the fact that First Credit of America violated your civil rights. I have dealt with that agency myself when my husband recieved a call from them regarding something he was not even responsible for. Long story short, the Attorney General of Illinois won us a settlement.

Where I work, we do not conduct business that way at all. Yes, we are required to collect for our client, but let me just say that not all collectors are monsters. I myself have built very friendly and respectful rapport with borrowers as I assisted them in ridding themselves of debt. It's these charlatans at places like Frist Credit of America who are really casting a pall over collectors who are really personable and non-threatening. We are contracted to help debtors, not torture them because it goes nowhere.

However, please don't overlook the fact that even the decent collectors such as myself are not immune to having insults hurled at us by less than engaging people. That's right, I said people because people who owe are still people and should be treated with dignity. Unfortunately, that sentiment is not returned.

Good luck and take care
