Why would a dealership give a bank an incorrect address for the loan? The Billings Dealership gave the bank an address for me as an empty lot???

This car dealerhip is soooo shady. Charged a sales tax in a state where there is no sales tax!!! Switched documents.

How long ago did you buy the car, and when did you find out about the address?

It's possible that it could be a typo or computer error. Is the wrong address on the contract you signed?

Sometimes dealers try to fraud the finance company by making up fake cars/people and getting the finance co to buy a phony contract. But if you received the car and it was an actual sale (albeit the whole sales tax issue), then I can't see why they would purposely state the wrong address.

Check into the taxes. Maybe there's no sales tax, but there might be a special use tax or transfer tax that the state makes the dealer charge. If they really weren't supposed to charge that - you could file a complaint with the Secretary Of State and the AG. In the least, they would have to give that money back to you.

I would like to know more about this "switched documents." It may lead me to some insight behind the whole bad address ordeal. They really could be in a lot of trouble if they were on some fraud-type mess.
