zipdebt.com just sells a do it your self debt settlement service. I am sure its nice but you can read the helpful info on this site and do it your self without paying anyone.

Just be careful how much you spend to get their coaching, it should not be more than say $300, i would not spend anymore if I????m going to settle my own accounts.

I am the oringinal poster and ended up going with this service. I am so glad that I did! It has worked out well for me too. Well worth the money. I had about $70,000 in cc debt and I have settled 6 accounts since and have one left to go. This service helps you to settle on your own and you save lots of money from paying someone to do it for you. All the money you would have to pay a Company to do it for you can go toward settleing your accounts. This is for those who want to do it themselves but are to nervous to do so. You listen to the cd's you get, which explains every step and then you get one phone consult for a plan of action. Also included is email support. Every time I had a question it was responed to within 24hrs. very important when you are getting anxious and questionig what to do next. This service is really up to date on how to handle debt settlement. Yes you can read and post questions here for free, which I have have because you can never get too much information, And I have learned alot here too but, some of the information here can be outdated and not the best depending on who answers.
ZipDebt.com
I HIGHLY recommend ZipDebt.com. I can be a bit of a micro-manager, so I have been extremely pleased with ZipDebt's do-it-yourself system...it has already saved me a TON of money (I quit paying my $60k Bank of America bill in December & started socking away the money I'd have paid in monthly payments. Today, B of A and offered to the whole debt for only 20%. Yee-haww!). Plus, let's face it...no one cares about your money more than you do and it's much better to take a hands-on approach rather than to pay someone you don't even know a load of money and then stick your head in the sand and hope that you're not getting duped in some way. ZipDebt has seriously changed my life! (and as soon as I'm totally debt-free, I'm taking the friend that recommended ZipDebt.com out to dinner...on me!) :D
Good for you! :D And here's to all the posters on this site
Good for you! :D
And here's to all the posters on this site that try and say only Professional Companys can get that kind of result. With all the scams out there, it is truly nice to have found someone who will really, honestly, help us with out taking advantage of our desparate situations.

Amy33 & ksrenaud, question for you: When using the ZipDebt.com system, were you able to save enough money on your own to make the "bulk" payment(s), or did you have to "find" or "borrow" a chunk of cash? (In other words, in the short amount of time you seemed to settle your debts, did you have enough time to "save up" for the settlements?) You both seemed to have settled in a very short time period...

I recommend at least the Enhanced because the consultation and email support is invaluable if only to ease your questions and fears when you are going through the process. He has always answered my emails within 24 hours at the most.
I did use some of my IRA to help settle some of my accounts quickly along with the monthly money I was saving. He does also do free upfront consultations to discus if you are a good canadate for this process or not.

I also end up getting service from ZipDebt. Now I'm fearless to go through in settlement. I'm starting not paying my creditors for this month. I will document the process and progress using the ZipDebt coaching.
I got the Enhanced Package billed in to two payments ($209). I listened the CDs and working browsing the workbook. I also created spreadsheet of my accountwhere I can also document the calls they and I made.
Just this morning I received a call from creditor and follow ZipDebt advice on how to answer phone calls.

Hi Weehide,
I agree with the guest. Here are some "Do it yourself guideline".

Hi Phoenix,
I also read the information here on the website but still not giving the tiny details I need. ZipDebt.com gives you the step by step instruction, the timeline, and even what you can say to your creditors when they call. So I think the $409 I paid are worth it for the information I received.
I don't have my results yet.. so I cannot really give testimonials that 100% will work. But because of the information I got from ZipDebt, I became more confident to do it myself.
Update-3 out of 8 creditors are on 30 days default. So I will see more as the time goes by.

Do you have to stop payment to CC before you can negotiate a settlement? How does this effect your credit score?

I used Zipdebt, and was able to pay off $132,000 of cc debt for $46,000 in 10 months (my last was finished today!). It has changed our lives. The process is moving much faster now, so it is good to have sources beyond monthly setaside. I borrowed some from family and some from pension, but mostly monthly savings. You do have to stop paying because as long as you are paying, they don't care about your problems. But once you stop, they offer you the moon--no interest, remove fees, etc. But only for 6 or 12 months, and that is not enough to bury the debt. Finally, it does hurt your credit, but so what? What house can you buy with that mountain of debt? And on the other side, my ratio of debt to income has gone from about 1:1.2 to 1:7.5! Zipdebt shows you how to rebuild your credit rating within 1-2 years as well. A friend of mine on the system bought a new car within a few months of finishing and his sister bought a house within less than 2 years. Having debt settlements on your record hurts it some, but nothing like bankruptcy, and it is far easier to clean up. And again, when my daughter goes to college in the fall, I could pay full tuition in cash, if I had to! I heartily recommend Zipdebt to everyone in credit card hell. They coach you through every step of the process and the response time is fantastic, plus they know exactly what is reasonable to expect for this company or that, even how collection agencies differ in tactics. I NEVER post to websites, but if Zipdebt were a religion, I'd be converting!

I am towards the end game, I have settled with 2 out of 6 creditors, will probably settle with a 3rd this week and the other 3 in the coming 4-6 weeks. Total debt outstanding - about $116k. There is alot of free information on the site, but it takes time to weed through it all, and even then, what may have been true a month ago may not be the case now.
I believe the coaching program from ZipDebt has been very helpful to this point. I ended up getting the top of the line package. I purchased it on one of the accounts I settled, so if you think about it that way, it was in reality paying $300 for a $700 program, for what may have already saved me $24,759.08 on 2 balances totaling $40,146.08 (Discover and AMEX).
On the other 4 accounts (BoA, Citi, GM Card,CFNA) I have all offers coming in currently at 45% or below, and still awaiting further drops. It's not a little coaching, its a lot of education behind the coaching in addition to plenty of coaching, with good back and forth on questions via phone or email. (top of the line package).
Understanding why the banks approach it they way they do certainly helps in actually helping your own situation. I don't know that you can actually glean that aspect from this website.

I just found this website, and I am totally not surprised to find the favorable reports here. I have been hounded by unsolicited phone calls from companies offering debt settlements for months now, but every single one, without exception, when you look them up on the web, have multiple websites with multiple people who have been ripped off, and generally screwed over, by them.
Then, last night, I found Charles' ebook and zipdebt website, and it was like a cool breeze in the Sahara. From everything I knew, the information was solid. Oh, and his blog contained lots more clearly valid, helpful information.
To make a long story slightly shorter, I just finished my introductory, FREE, consultation with Charles' assistant (I never quite got her name), who spoke with me for nearly an hour, answering every question. Between what I had read, and what she told me, I knew I had finally found the real deal, even without yet going through the CDs or starting the process. So, as I said, it was no surprise that this blog totally confirms this fact--not one person reporting a negative experience, and many with highly positive ones. She told me, and I am sure it's true, that they have a zero complaint record with BBB--not zero unresolved, but zero complaints, period.
As several people here have indicated, but just to make it absolutely clear to anyone looking at this site for the first time wondering if they should do this with zipdebt, there is one key to making this work, and this key can be a show stopper for some people--probably for many of them ultimately. And this factor is also the key reason why NONE of the debt settlement companies are on the level (Mrs. X from zipdebt told me she thought there might be 2 that are legit, out of the hundreds-thousands that exist)--because if they told you this, they couldn't promise what they promise to get your business.
The key thing is, you DO NEED to find some source of paying off the settlement amounts IN TOTO, generally within 6 months of your last payment on each account. Which means that no matter how much you save up from the moment you stop paying, you will not be remotely close to having enough accumulated by the time they start offering to settle. And here's a little secret she told me: your window to extract generous settlement terms is exactly 6 months. After 6 months, they must charge your loan off, at which point it is a loss on their books anyway, and they derive no advantage from making generous settlement offers (which evidently don't show as a loss in the same way). THAT'S why you must have a pot of money. But the debt settlement companies promise you they will use your money to pay off the first creditor, but they are silent on how they propose to pay off all the rest of them. They can't do it. They are ALL lying to you.
So, things like savings accounts, and yes, retirement accounts, may need to be borrowed from to make this work. But guess what? Once you are done, in 6-9 months, the entirety of what you were paying in useless debt service can be devoted to paying back your loan to yourself, you will restore your original funds in 1-2 years max, after which you will have the amount you used to pay as debt service as FREE MONEY to accelerate your savings. (Obviously, if you can borrow interest free from rich relatives, that works even better, but not all of us can do that.)
And zipdebt will not let you pay them until you can come up with, or be certain you will be able to come up with, the amount you will need to pay the settlements. They will say we can't help you. It's sad, because I'm sure many folks that need something real bad will be forced to bankruptcy, but the point is, zipdebt is just being honest about what it really takes. This is the only way it works, and I defy anyone to tell me about a debt settlement company that tells it like it is--and like zipdebt tells it.
And as people have pointed out, your credit record will go in the toilet, but only for a few months. As soon as you hit those zero balances, the R9's on your credit score will start to be counterbalanced by the zero balances, and your score will bounce back significantly pretty dern quickly. I have $55K, and will definitely do it myself.
And she told me, and I believe her, that no matter how much one of us lay people might read, even if we just purchased their CDs, there is no substitute for the specific advice they will provide as things come up, maybe even just that confirmation that we're doing fine and not to worry about a scary letter or something. Their prices are beyond reasonable for what they provide you, and what you will receive. And if you have any available credit, you can pay for it that way before beginning, and thereby pay only 40% of their fee at the end of the day.
