I received a phone call today from this number. I don't even know the name of the company. The gentleman I spoke to read over the phone a legal affidavit against me and said that on Monday there will be a judgement against me for not paying back a payday loan. All the guy told me was that US National Bank was the creditor and he couldn't even tell me what payday loan company it was. He had all my information address, SSN#. He said that the sheriff would be picking me up from work and taking me to the courthouse on Monday.

I have never received any certified mail in regards to this. The guy on the phone said that legal affidavit stated fraud and something else. I asked him to email me what he was looking at and he said he couldn't. He told me that the payday loan was for $300 and now I would end up owing over $5000 which includes fees, interest and attorney fees. I told him I don't have an attorney.

I need help, I am really scared and I don't know what to do. The guy said that US national bank sent emails to me and I have never received anything from them. Then the guy told me that us national bank sends emails differently not using the name.

Could someone help me

the thick accented doofus squad strikes again.don't worry you
will not be arrested period.one question though,do you recall
having any pdl's mainly from the internet.by the way there is
no US NATIONAL BANK.the mope who called you called from india.it is my experience with these knotheads not to talk to
them at all.it only encourages them further.one member researched and found it is a scam, trying to collect old pdl's.

Yes all of my payday loans were from the internet. The one thing that the guy said on the phone was that the reason why I didn't receive anything certified in the mail was because I applied online and it was paperless.

CID Spoofing is illegal when concerning tele-marketers but is a deceptive trade practice under FCC guidelines. Unfortunately, it's hard to go after someone in India for the violation.

Since everything was "paperless" then there would be no voluntary wage assignment and in order for a judgement to be placed, they would have to take you to court. Doubt that would happen on Monday (maybe sometime around the 12th of never)

Just this morning (7/28), I, too, was contacted, allegedly by US Natl. Bank, phone number 805-204-0039. Same deal about an affidavit, people coming to take me to my court date TOMORROW. I was suspicious immediately because I've never even applied for a payday loan, and I grilled the guy unmercifully. He said his title was affidavit processor, that his department didn't have a supervisor I could speak, and that he couldn't give me a phone number for US Natl. Bank because I'm "convicted." Jeez. Then, with his almost-impossible-to-understand Indian accent, he told me his name is Steve Matthew. Gimme a break! I was upset and so immediately got online to find info about all this. A Google search brought me to this website, and here I am (feeling much relieved!) What I want to know, though, is where do they get all the info about those they are trying to scam? He had at least the last 4 digits of my s.s.#, a former name of the company I worked for, and the name of the bank where I have my accounts. Scary!

I was contacted by US National Bank scam artist as well who went on and on about how I got a pdl in 12/07 which was not possible I was in the middle of a interstate move and did not even have internet access at the time so I ask for the number which of course he could not give me he kept asking questions like am I in trouble with the law blah blaha and he had the last for of my social and the last four of my bank account I think I am going to follow the advice of what to do if my identify was stolen becuase my husband contacted the sheriff and he told me if they call again tell them you are filing harrassment charges and then hang up and file a report. The guy got off the phone with me after Ikept asking for information becuase I did not take this loan out and he said I will have to prove it in court and I told him see you in court then and hung up.

received a phone call today 8/12/08 from this number(818) 530-1886. I spoke with gentlemen named Matthew who he was calling on behalf of U.S. National bank started reading over the phone a legal affidavit against me and said that on Wednesday 8/13/08 there will be a judgement against me for not paying back a payday loan. He had all my information address, last four of my SSN#. He said that the sheriff would be picking me up from work and taking me to the courthouse on Wednesday 8/12/08. I did contact Lancaster Texas Police Department and filed a report and was advised that if they come to my resident or job contact them or near police department and don't go with them.

I have never received any certified mail in regards to this. The guy on the phone said that legal affidavit stated fraud and something else. i have been getting calls like this for months! They come and go in waves.. i get messages at work from someone with a thick accent with names like Mike Tyson, or John Dixon... saying i need to call back right away, blah, blah, blah. I usually delete the voicemails, because i dealt with them probably six or seven months ago. They said I had all these charges, said I owed all this money, and that I was going to be arrested and go to court... still waiting! I would ask for proof of the affedavit, asked them for their address so I could send a formal request for information from them, but they wouldn't give me any of it. They would get frustrated and hang up. Now they call me today, and say that I will be fired... yeah right. I would even ask for the name of the payday loan company that i supposedly owed money to, but they never could give me that information. I have had payday loans in the past, but have paid them back.. They have my social security number, but when they read it off, i tell them that what they have is incorrect (no way am i going to confirm my social security number) and they act all baffled. I told them i was going to call the police, and they said if I do that, then they are going to call my manager and have me fired. Even though it's a scam, and I know that, it still freaks me out! I don't know how to get them to stop calling me!!

nicolec---the EXACT same thing has happened to me over the past few days 8/14 1n3 8/15/08...EXACTLY the same...and yes I have taken and paid off payday loans in the past so looks like they are totally praying on internet pdl users. Get this though----all they wanted to obtain from me ..after sacring me to death...was the name of my lawyer ( I dont have one and have never needed one) and the bar code of my lawyer ). I dont get that. They are using us to scam lawyers? I dont understand. I guess we all could be victims of identity theft now. But the WORST of it is I called them back after 10pm last night to see what would happen and I couldnt believe my ears....the phone rang like 15 times and then all of a sudden a recording of a small girl child came on and I wont repeat here the words...it was blatant and disgusting child pornography. That is when I just KNEW it was a toal scam. Very scarry huh? I am so glad I found this website and others who are sharing in my terrible experience!

Oh...also I forgot to add that the number I was asked to call and did call back to was (818)-581-3801...not the one you spoke of above and the man's name was supposedly Michael Stewart although the thick Indian accent gave it way that his name could not really be true. LOL!
I am still baffled at what they are trying to accomplish other than verify our SS#'s, addresses etc..
I hope that I dont ever hear back from them again...what should I do if they call back? Just dont answer I guess.

I can confirm this is a scam. They are calling from India using a prepaid long distance carrier called "Dial Around The World" and Global Crossing. Just this morning, I was able to have two of their phone numbers (310)494-0271 and 818-530-1886 disconnected by sending an email to security@gblx.net as well as filling out a customer service request at w w w .dialaroundtheworld.com/contact_us/.

IF YOU GET ANY CALLS, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL AND FILL OUT THE CS FORM! THE NUMBER WILL BE DISCONNECTED WITHIN 2 HOURS!
