well, it is just something I was thinking about as I have had better luck and more timely responses from some versus another. I didn't realize I had to have my questions proofed for approval by someone before posting them? I thought this was a public community to assist and discuss debt and credit related issues.

I found all three to be about equal. I had to dispute something with all 3 and they all were pretty easy. I don't know what it would have been like to dispute something other than my address though.

Yes my question was in regards to disputes more than general information corrections such as addresses, names, etc. When I had to correct those items, they were all handled roughly the same.
But I have noticed a difference between timeliness of responses from the Bureaus. Sometimes when I disputed to the Bureaus where verrification was needed from the original creditor/trade line company, it just took a few days, others took almost the full 30 days.

I would say the Experian is the hardest to get to remove invalid items (but it seems that no one reports to them anymore, they always have almost nothing on me), and also seems to have the harshest scoring from FICO. TransUnion is the hardest to get to actually validate tradelines. I have disputed tradelines as inaccurate 3 times now, and twice they have just sent me a letter stating that the line was verified (this last time, I have requested that they send me the proof for my records). Equifax seems to just roll with it, they pull lines while it's in dispute, don't accept anything without validation to begin with, and send me whatever they get that satisfies their requirements (hasn't been much so far, they only have 3 bad lines on me, TU has 6, and EX has 1)

Personally, I seem to have the easiest time making disputes and getting updates with TransUnion. I have 3-bureau monitoring service through TransUnion's TrueCredit.com site as I'm repairing my credit report/score.
It seems that Equifax is quite comparable to TransUnions as far as disputes, updates and scoring is concerned. Experian, on the other hand, seems to be on a page of their own. The information they are reporting is highly outdated or simply non-existent, and the score they are reporting is over 40 points lower than the other two.

I am at the moment with Experians freecreditreport.....its ok, but im not sure about it. Experian is like a brick wall and will not budge even when they are wrong. Do you like TrueCredit? Are they exspensive? I pay $12.95 a month and I have been thinking about switching becuase I am not that happy with their service. Your advise would be great amiller2.
thank you,

Luke,
Have you signed up for the TU class action? You can receive 9 months free thru Truecredit once everything is said and done. Deadline is sometime in September.

Nascardevil, before I realized what I had done, I signed for the "money payout" when and if that happens. Wished I could go back, but anyway, can you tell me what you pay a month for your service at Truecredit?
Thanks for all your help,
Luke

To answer my own question for awhile back, Equifax has been the easiest and most timely to deal with.
Transunion and Experian have been roughly the same, although I did notice "better" service from Transunion when I was paying for their True Credit. After I cancelled my membership, the service was poor again.
Experian is the hardest to deal with
I would like to say from personal experince that Experian is the hardest of the 3 credit burearus to deal with when disputing items on your credit report. TransUnion deleted 6 of the 8 items that I asked (1 judgement, 1 repossession, and the rest were collection items). Experian on the other hand was very difficult and I am still writing them letters as of 8/11/09 to delete items from my credit report. I finally got a letter in the mail from one of my debt collectors saying that my debt was paid in full and I'm going to send this to Experian as proof and hopefully the negative item will be updated or even deleted. Just keep writing them and disputing the items...sooner or later it will come off.

That's what I have noticed, too. There is even a Class Action against them for refusing to remove fraudulent tradelines put there by junk debt buyers/scams.

Of course, that doesn't go for everyone. Some people get lucky!

My experience, and take it for what it's worth, is that Experian is the hardest to deal with. Transunion was the easiest in removing an incorrect judgement. I sent all three proof they were wrong from the plaintiff lawyers office along with a letter under FCRA. Transunion deleted immediately. The other two are still arguing that it's correct even though they have the proof it is wrong.
