Question:

Actually it is embarrassing to say but I have over 10 payday loans. Only three are store front and all the rest are internet. I reside in the state of Texas. I had to turn to payday loans when my husband lost his job, family and friends are having a tough time. Even though he searched deligently he didn't receive a new one until two months later (lower pay). I found myself getting a new loan to repay something on the old one plus something on the current bills. It's sad to say we are still behind on most of the bills plus an overwhelming payday loan debt.
These are the loan companies: Ace Cash Express, Cash Banc, Cash First, LLC (Impact), Green Light Funding, Paycheck Today, Payday Loan Yes.com, Loan Shop - ltsmanagement.com, Cash Advance Network (CAN), OMG - Oasis1 Management Group, Prestige Management Group, Zip19.com (they are ruthless), 4moneyandmore.com, ChecknGo, OneStepCash, CashBack, Worldwidecash.com, DiscountAdvances, Cash-Advance.us and finally We Offer Cash
I told you it's embarrashing. :( Please help.

Please don't feel embarrassed, no one is here to judge you, only help you. If you would please post the amount you paid, and the amount you borrowed, then we can plan a course of action for you. Texas laws are somewhat difficult to figure out, as there are companies that appear to be a payday loan company when in fact they are a CSO (Credit Service Organization). The problem with those are, they do not need to be licensed, and are generally 100% legal in what they charge. Therefore, the pdl laws do not apply to them. :? So please make sure you are correct when you say they are payday loans, and NOT CSO's, that is very important in determining a course of action for you. I wll post your pdl laws shortly. :D

Texas requires internet based pdl's to be licensed by that state. So, if any of these pdl's you owe, are not licensed in Texas, they are illegally lending money to Texas residents. I can tell you thatGreen Light Funding, Paycheck Today, Payday Loan Yes.com , and Zip19.com are NOT legal, those I know for sure. The other ones will require some research, which can actually be done (for the most part) right here on this site. What I might suggest is, for you to type in the name of the pdl into the search box in the upper right hand corner of this forum, then read the topics that come up to see if they are legal. That's a start. :)

Ace Cash Express, Legal CSO
Cash Banc,
Cash First,
LLC (Impact),
Green Light Funding,
Paycheck Today,
Payday Loan Yes.com,
Loan Shop - ltsmanagement.com,
Cash Advance Network (CAN),
OMG - Oasis1 Management Group,
Prestige Management Group,
Zip19.com (they are ruthless),
4moneyandmore.com,
ChecknGo, Legal CSO
OneStepCash,
CashBack,
Worldwidecash.com,
DiscountAdvances,
Cash-Advance.us
We Offer Cash

The other's may or may not be CSO's . . . . Most likely not, but you say you have 3 storefronts, so at least one more of those companies is totally legal and legit, if not more.

Thank you goudah2424 for all of your help. I actually called the Texas OCCC and she told me that internet payday loans do not have to be licensed in the state of Texas and that I must pay the loan plus the finance charge. She advised me to work out a payment plan with them. So that's my plan now is to work one out with everyone. I have plans in placed with some companies already I just need to arrange one with the new loans.
