We have been contacted by the island yellow pages by phone countless times. Once in 2004 they played us back a recording of one of the conversations showing that we had "agreed" to advertising with them. At that time, they spoke to a person who spoke English as a second language and it was clearly a fast talking confusing sales pitch. Even playing it back to an English speaker it was hard to say we "agreed", but being that we are always carefull to pay our debts we were dumb enough at that time to pay it and ask to cancel the contract.
Now on one of the postings about this fraud I read that they even edit the tapes to show that you said "yes"!!!

I guess that labeled us as the suckers so now they are calling and calling for thousands of dollars since "we have not paid since 2004..." they even have a "lawyer" Phyllis Hardge calling saying they are taking us to court. We looked up that "law Firm" Phillips, Thomas & Goldberg and they have a 1/2 page web site saying they are a debt collection agency lending legitimacy to their scam. On their own web site it even states they are not a law firm as they claim to be on the phone. From other postings we understand that it is a person named David Phillips who is running this scam successfully for many years. If they are getting us, I am sure they are plaguing loads more who may actually be paying them!!!
IT IS A SCAM! DO NOT PAY!!!

Hi, just saw your posting after doing a search for Phillips, Thomas & Goldberg. . . I have had a similar problem with them and had done all the same research as you had in February 2008. I thought i'd let it go since I sent them a letter in February and had not heard anything from them since. Now they are right back at it harrassing my office for the payment. I am reporting them to the licensing and consumer affairs office on St. Croix (where I live) and also to the BBB in their area. . .. Tampa, FL I think.

I worked for him and would be happy to testify to what they do and how they misrepresent Phillips, Thomas and Goldberg as a law firm. Contact me at xxxxxxxx@xxxx.xxx

I know how they operate from the inside out. They also charge credit cards without permission. When he gets desperate, he charges the cards, then waits to see if anyone complains and then he will reverse the charge only if you stay on him. If he charged your card, contact the Hillsborough County State Attorney's office. They will assist in filing a complaint. Need a witness, let us know..we have several. Coach Cole was not the one doing this, it is Phillips. Don't pay this guy, he has no recourse, it is a bluff.

They aren't liars. I previously worked for the company but quit b/c of the unethical way he ran the company. David Phillips, Ameera and Carol McRae do run customers credit cards w/out their permission. Then they copy and paste the signature from the previous year onto a new form to make it seem like the charge was authorized. This way if your bank or credit card company try to reverse the charge they can't b/c of the signature they have. He overcharges people for the pathetic ads he has put up and most people don't generate any business from them. Please do not waste your time with this man he is a huge con artist who is being investigated in several islands as well as in the U.S.

island yellow pages could have a good product and could have a good company that could really help company's in the islands but the way it is ran is why it has such a bad name. Only advise to give to viewers or people who are a customer of Island Yellow pages before you pay anything make sure your ads are up and running and everything is correct also make sure before you pay your website is up and not just set as a temp saying nothing. Just next time be careful what you agree too and when they say to view over the terms and conditions MAKE SURE YOU STOP AND LOOK!! and for anyone who is trying to work there i would look somewhere else it was a good place to work for a long time ago!there are a lot of issues that happen in there office. The only way to stop the word a scam is listen to what they say or just hang up.
