Corporate debt on my personal credit reports

Hi everybody, I have a quick question. I sent in a debt validation letter to Federated Financial Corporation of America. They responded back by putting the debt on my personal credit reports and they also sent a letter stating this debt does not fall under the fdcpa because it is commercial business debt. Where can I find more information to dispute and have then validate this debt? Any assitance is greatly appreciated. :D

well, what they told you is actually correct--if it is a legitimate corporate account. Business accounts are not subject to the fdcpa. However, you didnt say much about the debt itself---is it yours? If so, is it actually a corporate debt? If you can show that it is not a corporate account then they would have to abide by the FDCPA.
