I sent an email to the following email address 8/5 and I've not heard anything back from them. Just out of curiousity, I went to the zip19.com website to check my balance to see if they maybe had marked it as paid and just not contacted me via email that they had done so. After I entered my log in information, it gave me the message that I didn't have access to this site. Any ideas what this means?

alot of pdl's once you get wise, tend to block you from there website.real legit companies don't do that.

I received correspondence from Zip19.com via email today stating that Northway Financial is licensed by the government of Malta as a financial institution, and the law of Malta, not the State of Oklahoma applies to the tems of my loan agreement. Aren't they still illegal to operate in the US if they don't have a license?

Just send them an email back that reads:

I am not a resident of Malta, have never claimed to be a resident of Malta, and never will be a resident of Malta, therefore, I am not bound by the laws of Malta. If you have any further questions or comments regarding this matter please contact my state's Attorney General's office at: _ _ _ - _ _ _ _.
Have a nice day.

That's what I was thinking too. So, I can email them back and let them know that since I've had multiple pdls with them and my overpaid fees exceed the amount of my outstanding loan, they can apply the overpayments to my outstanding balance and mark my account as paid in full. Should I include anything else?

Yes, tell them your state law prevails, period. However, they will most likely continue to try and convince you to pay more, but that's what these illegal companies do. They need to obtain a license and practice according to the law, if they choose not too, then I do not feel sorry for their losses. It's interesting, last night I was reading an article (I wish I would have bookmarked it) that said, the illegal ipdl's make far more money (even with the losses) than the legal ones. Go figure. :?

That is all BS that they state when not licensed in the US to lend. You are a US citizen, you are not subject to their laws, lastly they are HIGHLY ILLEGAL for loaning to customers in the US! They know it and we know it!

I went through Green Picket ( another Northway Financial Group)I sent them a Cease and Disist, as well as faxed them, that I could not pay at this time..They have rolled me over 2 x without me receiving any money ( my bank account is closed..it just shows up on their website...)They just called me and said I am with the "Northway Financial Group", and not even addressed who the person was, no name given.."he said why don't you just call us and tell us to "f off" and we will come after you ,our way." I had already written them weeks ago and stated to contact me via e-mail and/or the Postal Service. I also made them aware the we ( the AZ State Attorney's office and myself are now aware that they are illegal to operate in the US. Should be interesting to see what happens now...Thanks again to all of you for your knowledge and awareness you have given me...What a lesson learned...I had the intention to pay back in time but when you threaten me...all bets are off. Of, course, I saved to message :-)

I got directed to Zip19.com from another lending site... It asked me for personal information, and half-way through the application for a loan, I cancelled out of it... I am not 100% sure if I put my bank account information on the form, but do you think there is a chance they will still try to pull funds from my bank account, or add a loan to my bank account?

If they have your account information you can be sure they will take funds out.

This group is totally disgusting and illegal. I took out a loan with them and had some difficulty paying back. totally my fault. got into a situatuion, money did not come in, etc.. I relentlessly tried to pay these people back, as I am honest and irregardless, of all the info I now know, i just wanted to pay the debt back. There is NO address. you cannot pay these people, like mail them money orders, etc.., b/c they ARE out of the county and ARE illegal. I continued to try to speak with them, like others said, forever on hold, strong, strong, foreign accents barely understandable. I was always told that I MUST western union them money. If I don't have enough to pay back, i certainly don't have the extra 10-20 to western union. So, I have had to let it go. I have been worried and felt guilty and wanted to resolve it, but they will not budge and will not give me an address to make payments to. Then, on top of it all, they call me, now for problaby three years, with this loud, agressive, threatening repetitive man's voice, with a thick accent. He sounds right out of Scar Face, only thick accent and shouts that "the second" I get this message", I must do this and do that, and says my name a hundred times and leaves this lengthy message, each and every time. Total threat, and tells me, if I do not contact him back, well, then all he can do, is wish me luck and wish my family luck. Like Thug Man. They have cell phones that come in as Washington, D.C., and think us stupid americans are just a bunch of idiots. They make up names of federal agencies and say they are "Agent, or detective, Tom Smith", for the blah, blah, blah, so we looked it up-of course no such agency. They say there are several lawsuits pending against me and my social security number, which of course they have from way back. But, funny, I have received none of this info ever, except in a threatening email. do not fall for any of it. They sound scary, but we need to stand up and help other people not be victims. These people are sick thugs, and like you said have made more money than anything legal-EVER!!! I am definitely contacting the attorney general's office and I absolutely LOVE the person that wrote that comment about "I am not a resident of Malta". Last time I checked I was not. I have learned my lesson, but several years of harrassment, and owing my old bank like a thousand dollars because of this stupid choice I made. PLEASE do not take out PAY DAY loans. It seems like a quick fix. you will pay in the end. At least in MA. Oh, by the way, PAY day loans are totally not even legal in MA., so I think they try to get away with it, by stating it is throught he internet, but I have heard enough about this company to KNOW they are ILLEGAL. Totally. All the positive things you see on line about them are posted by them, or associates of them.
