Well, after much research and soul-seaching, we have decided to go through debt-settlement. We are using E-limidebt. My brother went through them a couple years ago and recommended them highly. We have $60000+ in debt. I'm nervous but also happy to finally have an end in sight. E-limidebt, don't forget the - , has a B+ rating with the BBB and I so far haven't found anything bad about them. And trust me, I've looked.

Does anyone else have any experience with them?

Here is the rip off report for E-limidebt -

I think you need to do a bit more research on this company. I know all the debt settlement companies as I have spoken to almost all of them about my debts. I finally decided to sign up with - xxxxxxxxxxx. no complaints whatsoever. I recommend you to call them and compare with other companies.
gud luck

There are 2 companies out there with very similar names and VERY different reputations!!! The ripoffreport that was posted was for elimidebt management co. which is NOT E-limidebt!!! BE CAREFUL, simply leaving out the "-" can change a lot. I have heard horrible things about elimidebt but I have been talking to e-limidebt for a few weeks now (very scared myself about making this decision)but I have found nothing bad about them. I am having my attorney look over my contract with them before I sign but it all seems legit. Hope I've helped!!!

I have been a client of e-limidebt for almost a year now. They truly are very porfessional and helped me pay off 1/2 of my credit card debt already. They call me like every month and I am very happy working with them.

After my supposed contract was signed by them thru docusign... the terms and conditions in the welcome packet differed from the original agreement. I have not signed anything. I contacted "Carla" via phone and email no response. Also contacted "Don" via email... no response. Thankfully they only stole the first payment toward there processing fee. PLEASE DO NOT USE E-LIMIDEBT.com from FL... total fraud.

Once you sign up for a debt settlement program you stop making payments to your creditors. No payments are made to your creditors during your participation in the program. The debt negotiation company then either takes monthly payments from you that it stores up in a holding account or it has you store up the money in your own account. During this process of accretion, the debt negotiation company is handling your creditor calls and negotiating with your creditors for a lower payoff amount. Debt settlement is a totally legal, logical, and moral way to get out of debt as old as the concept of debt itself. Eventually your minimum monthly payments will likely be going almost entirely towards interest.

Basically, they arrange a settlement for let's say $5,000 on a $10G account... They make the consumer send a check through a "payment processing firm" that they contract for $5,750 and take the extra $750... It's not in the agreement.... Hmmmmm. Employees are sending the info from the inside...
