Anyone tried NuStart for debt reduction? They work with Matthews law firm somewhere in California. They took my first months payment of $200 then someone called me and said the credit card companies wouldn't agree to that amount, needed to be more. He recommended bankruptcy if I couldn't afford to pay more per month. Now they won't answer or return my calls to get my $200 back.

Would you happen to know the phone number for the Matthews Law firm they use?

I've worked with the Mathews Law Firm since July of this year. Yes, they have returned my calls and been helpful. You need to be careful when talking to the credit card companies, as many will say they don't work with them, etc. There is a harrasment form, which I've had filled out to prevent further calls, from these types, which has worked wonderfully and I have received no further calls. When calling the Mathews Law Firm type in extension number 1104, if you are a client, which is customer service. I had an extra payment taken out on one month, which was credited back to my bank account. There are real people there and I would not call it a scam by any means. I did check them out before enrolling and they have been in business for years.

To add the message before, I checked into the BBB and if you look into all debt settlement companies in California all have a F rating ALL. I called them The Matthews law firm and they were upfront, and said all Calif debt settlements companies do. It does not matter how many complaints, and they have only a couple. I think it is the BBB that has lead us in the wrong direction. How can some company with 4 complains have a F as another company I checked into had 240. I think the Matthews Law Firm is GREAT.

I have worked with Matthew Law Firm for almost a year now. I have had no compliants with them. They have even stopped a lawsuit filed against me and settled with the creditor and the creditor sent me a notiifcation that the lawsuit had been withdrawn. As to Nustart, when I first agreed to go under this plan through them, they were helpful, but very pushy to get me to sign quickly. Shortly after been contacted by Matthew Law Firm and money had started being taken out of my account, I can't seen to reach anybody at NuStart. Their number goes right into Matthew Law Firm. So it does seen quit strange that they are not reachable now.

all i really have to say is the cc companies will say anything. Even if its elligal. listen i heard it all, they wont settle with settlement companies, they cant discuss it with anyone but me, they are going to come take my stuff, and even that i was gonna go to jail.

I dont know about this company but i do know this, they all worked with the company except 1 and that was citibank and it was a very small account. KNow i here citibank is negotiating like mad. If you are using a company dont speak with these creditors. They will say the company is not contacting them or returning thier calls. They lie to get what they want and they want you to be scared. and they want to pump info out of you that will may effect how the company settles with you.

say for example x company calls you gets you worked up says they are going to sue you because they dont work with settlement companies. In the meantime they are working with your settlemetn company and the company tells them you only have 1,000 to work with. WEll they call you get you worked up and you tell them that you have a 401k you can cash if they dont sue you. So know they tell the setlemet company to buzz off they know you have additional funds. When before all they knew you had was a 1,000 and they may have settled for that if they didnt know about additional funds. If they know you have more they will want more. See? they pump info thats why they will still try to call and the settlement company will advise you to not speak with them because you could hurt a potential settlement.

I gave the Matthews Law Firm almost $2500.00 and then the court papers started to come and there was nothing they could do to stop the judgements so they told me to cancel my bank accts but that wouldn't stop my pay garnishment at work. I had to file bankrupcy anyway which I should have done in the first place. That cost me only $1800.00 and I lost almost $2500.00 to the Matthews Law Firm. My attorney sent them paperwork and it came back to him as undeliverable. Somethings wrong here.

These claims that the Matthews law firm is not a scam are written by company employees
anyone who has used this company knows the truth, MATTHEWS LAW FIRM IS A SCAM!
ANYONE WHO SAYS DIFFERENT IS WORKING FOR THEM!!
I demand that those people above that say anything different back up there claims, this is a obvious attempt of the company to save face with lies
Matthew Law Firm is a scam
