Judgement from palisades

Help!!! I don't know what to do! I am willing to fork over some serious cash, but no one will help me. Our home loan is dependant on me getting this paid and the judgement released.
Any help is appreciated!

You received a judgement that you weren't aware of? Sounds fishy to me. If you weren't served properly, you can dispute it with the court and have the judgement dismissed by the court. Then it will have to be removed by the CRA.

I was in the same spot (without the judgement) with Palisades and an AT&T debt, and out of the companies that I dealt with, Palisades was by FAR the hardest to deal with. They are rude, completely unsympathetic, and the stereotypical debt collection company.
If you need this paid off to get the loan, go ahead and pay it, bargain for a letter saying that they will remove the debt from your credit reports. But if you don't get it in writing directly from them, don't expect to be able to get it removed from your credit reports until the 7 years are up.
But if you have time, go ahead and dispute for multiple innacuracies and cross your fingers!
Well... this is what happened....
I called AT&T directly. They were very helpful and called Palisades directly for me since they couldn't accpt the payment. Lo and behold.... I am currently on hold with a Rep. from Palisades. They are trying to "calculate the interest owed since the time of judgement."
We will see what happens. So far, they have been quite nice, although she wanted me to post date a check by phone for tomrrow.... I told her he!! no. Told her that I will only do that once they give me a total and will call back tomorrow when I know that all funds are available in my checking account. On top of that, I am giving them a checking account that I don't use often so they can't play any games and try and take more.

Well, I have the payoff amount and instead of doing check by phone will send the money via MoneyGram tomorrow. I have the rep I spoke to direct line and extension plus the name of her supervisor. Was told that as soon as they can verify the money as sent, they will fax a release of judgement letter.
Just wanted to tell all of you thank you. I have some other minor debts on our credit report and will use some of the tips I learned at this website to get them taken care of.

One last update.... I just pulled off my fax machine a letter from Palisades stating that my debt has been paid in full!!!
What a huge freaking relief! I am faxing it over to my lender and am happy to have this closed.

I paid a debt to them in full, their attorney wrote a letter, and then wrote another letter saying something different. I have never in my life talked to such rude people. Everytime I call them they want to transfer to "Kim" - well either is never there on never answers her phone. I have made 3 calls yesterday and 8 calls today. I told them to please not transfer just make a note that the check has been mailed - which is has. I finally hold of a supervisor and told him to make note the check has been mailed. Our home flooded last month and we have been misplaced for a month. Of course the supervisor was an A## also. Good Luck to anyone having to deal with these buttholes.

As this account was with one group Wednesday and another group thursday and no one will help from either collection agency any ideas?
