CRS possible harassment --- what to do?

I've recieved messages from two of my friends that Certfied Recovery Systems has been contacting them about me. They claim that CRS said I gave their numbers as alternate contact numbers. This is NOT true. I gave the numbers as personal references on a samll loan, not as alternate contact numbers.
As a result of these calls, there is some tension between my friends and I, and I am angry that this company is claiming I gave these numbers as alternate contact numbers. I've contacted CRS and told them not to contact my friends and family any more, but they are obviously refusing to listen. What can I do about this?

Welcome to the forums.
There is rule in the fdcpa law that a collection agency can contact a third party only once in order to locate him. But this should not be done more than once otherwise it will result in violation of the Federal laws.
If they are refusing to follow your request, you can file charges against them with the help of your lawyer.
