I got a call from Patrick Corbetts law office. Should I pay them?

no i wouldn't without something in writing.if they refuse,it could be a rent a lawyer or a CA claming to be a lawyer.i would not pay until they sent something in writing.request it then hang up.

just did look into this, and they are a collection agency that uses this lawyer's name.instead send a formal complaint to.

grievance commitee (nysba)
438 main street
buffalo ny 14202

if these idiots call again read back that address and hang up.
they are in NY and routinely violate the FDCPA.they won't send or validate anything.they have gotten three lawyers b-4
mr. corbett sued into bankruptcy.go to bud hibbs sight to see
the whole sordid story.

I'm always watching. And I don't have much patience with your bullcrap.

Sdjskjd, tell me why the OP should just pay this. Seriously, I'm looking for a reasoned answer here, not just some knee-jerk parrot-post. Look at it from my perspective: Some arguably crooked CA is demanding money, and the Internet is full of bad stories about them. Should the OP just pony up without even the assurance that he's paying the right amount to the right people? Or should he do his homework first, and make certain that his hard-earned money actually goes to the proper creditor? Come on, I genuinely want to hear your thoughts on this.

Pay no attention to Sillygirl. When that bimbo starts telling it like it is, I'll be the first one in line to applaud her for it.
