Are we talking about the "The Credit Exchange" in California? I believe that there is 3 companies with this name, but I could be wrong.
I Just Git their Application
I think that they are a scam artist looking for peoples Identity's! A call bank. I heard people in the back ground capping when I told them to send me the application. When reading it they wanted a voided check so that they could do an electronic with drawl if my monthly payment was not paid. I told them in the first place there would be no electronic bank with drawls. After receiving the application, about an 1/2 hour had went by and I got a call telling me that I had to sign and return the paper work, "Today".
Not in my life time!

The Credit Exchange Corperation
I'm in the process of using this company for credit counseling...Not a loan...But my credit card accounts will be frozen...until balance is paid at a much lower interest rate than I'm paying now...thanks
The Credit Exchange
If their BBB rating was based on amount of cocaine used per sales rep, it would be an A+.... I'm not kidding. Avoid these people like the plague.

Credit Exchange
Don't use them or anybody else. Just call the credit cards and ask for the assistance program. I cut my rates from 29% to 6% with no fees or penalties and I set the repayment amount. Why involve a 3rd party, do it yourself. Know your debt, your income and your monthly expense and make it work for you. The Banks would rather have their money at less profit then not at all.
The Truth
Hi, my name is Steven Vanderhoof and I'm the CEO of The Credit Exchange here to clear the air. I started The Credit Exchange in May of 2001 to help people understand their options for Debt Managment. Since then we have performed over 300,000 consultations FREE OF CHARGE and have referred over 60,000 people into a variety of debt management programs. As far as the "F" rating with the BBB, we've never really understood their scoring system and quite frankly they are under quite a bit of scrutiny themselves. Check it out www.bbbroundup.com. Ask yourself this question, how can a company that has served over 60,000 customers, with only 71 complaints over the last 3 years, none of which are left unanswered or unsatisfied, equate an "F" rating? My thoughts EXACTLY! But it is what it is and wish we could change the unfairness of that scoring system, but we can't. Our most sincere desire is to continue serving as a light in a dark situation to those who need our help. Any other questions?
if anyone has doubts about the debt management program they are
if anyone has doubts about the debt management program they are enrolling in they should do a background check of the company with the BBB, TASC, AG, etc... doing your due diligence will help.
The Truth
Hello everyone, My name is Steven Vanderhoof and I'm the CEO of The Credit Exchange here to clear the air. My company has a mission and that is to help people who have painted themselves into a corner financially and to simply show them their options as it relates to their plight, of which their are only 5 options.
1. Keep doing what you're doing
2. Enroll in a Debt Repayment Plan through Credit Counseling
3. Attempt to settle with your creditors the balances you owe them
4. Take out a home equity loan to pay off your credit cards
5. File for bankruptcy
These are your options, there are no other options. And since everyone's situation is different, there is not a "one size fits all" solution. Herein I have over 100 Certified Credit Counselors, certified by the NFCCC, the only license recognized by the Department of Justice of the United States, to perform budget counseling sessions. We have access to all the companies that offer the services described above and our commitment is to help the debtor choose which of those options will best service THEIR needs, not the companies we promote. We have performed over 300,000 budget counseling sessions FREE OF CHARGE and have referred over 60,000 customers into a variety of Debt Management Plans customized to their needs. We have been in business for 9 years and we all take great pride in what we do, serving as a light of hope for those drowning in debt.
Ironic!
Steve here again! Just as I was finishing posting these comments I got the following email: Dear Gentlemen,
I am writing today to express my praise about your financial counselor, Brian O. Financial matters, given the current state of the nation???s economy and how that state has affected many families, are a sensitive situation. My situation has caused me a great many hours of anxiety and stress. Brian???s demeanor, throughout our phone conversation was encouraging, compassionate, and non-judgmental. He continually reassured me that while the setting up of the program may feel stressful, once the program is activated, I would feel a great reduction in my anxiety and stress. I believe he is a tremendous asset to your company, and I am so grateful that your program and Brian in particular, are available to make my and my families future brighter.
Most Sincerely,
Anna J. H.
Funny how these comments are never posted so I thought I would help the process. BTW, we have hundreds of letters just like these.
Yo Steve, what did you do with the $7,500,000 you got from Hess
Yo Steve, what did you do with the $7,500,000 you got from Hess Kennedy and Campos?
cool abyss
it quite obvious you work for another consolidation company and only have the bbb as ammo, the better business bureau is a " pay to play" company. how about going to "bbb round up" to verify this they are privatly owned and unregulated by any agency and it all about revenue for the bbb
Scam
I am working with customers right now who used this program. They stated and proved that this company had been debiting their account as agreed to pay off credit card debt. However, they just received a phone call from their credit card company stating they were 3 months behind payments. The company hadn't made any payments to their creditors which has damaged their credit further and left them in a position to be sued by their creditors.
The Credit Excang Corp. In Orange County CA.
The rep just called me today AKA "Augustine F." started talking how his company can help and he doesn't get paid no fees he just helps.... (Their phone number didn't show up on my caller I.D) I told him I couldn't be on the phone that long. So he cut it short and said I had his info... If I wanted help, I would call him... Then I started to say "Hey what about your Company??? Explain you Company to me??? And he just hung up on me??? So I called back and got his voice mail. So that made my mind up not to do business with them. I think they are looking the the weak to prey on... My opinion.
Compensation for Services
I don't understand the comment about being paid for your services. If you have helped thousands of clients get out of debt and have minimal complaints. 60,000 clients with 71 complaints is .0011 complaints.
I mean I understand that people that make no money usually quip about people that do make money, but so what? Hell, the owner of this website makes over $3,000,000 per year selling leads.
The owner of this site has sold millions of leads to companies that have been shut down by the FTC or Attorney General.
To all people who came here in debt like myself, look out for the troll debt collectors and competing debt settlement companies talking smak.
A good debt settlement company is like a good root canal. . . you have three options:
1. Do nothing.
2. Remain a slave to the banks.
3. Hire a professional.
I recommend hiring a lawyer like I did with the whole Hess Kennedy fiasco. It was painful but it is over.
i dont see any issues with the owner of this site making money.
i dont see any issues with the owner of this site making money. and if someone joined a bad settlement company it is because they did not do the proper research that you need to do before signing the bottom line. i understand the anxiety that people feel once they realize they are in over thier heads, but it didnt take you a few hours to get into debt so it should take you more than a few hours to research the company that you are considering fully. And if you are not comfortable with that... this site is great on how to show you how to do it yourself. there are ways out, but you must take the time to find out what is the right situation for your situation. everyone is different and so is thier financial situation
Love My Things
Why should the owner of this site not properly vet companies he sells leads to? IF he is "all about the community" why does he not do any due diligence?
I lucked out with Hess Kennedy because I happened to have a Chase, HSBC, and Capital One account. All the receiver is doing is paying themselves over $250,000 per month from what was "allegedly a scam".
I was contacted by The Credit Exchange after filling out a form on this site.
