I know Debt Regret to be a reputable company...not sure about the others. Keep in mind there is nothing stopping a scam company from copying a legitimate company's website.
Debt Regret is a TASC Accredited Member, and one of their requirements is that they keep hard copies of any testimonials on their website to back up the validity of the testimonials. None of the other companies are affiliated with TASC afaik.
Hope this helps.

If knowldge is power, then Tom321 has none!
Allow me to offer some real information that might actually benefit this site's readers. A accredited from a organization such as TASC means that the company that has been assessed against nationally recognized standards and operates with the highest level of quality, service and integrity. TASC accreditation provides a level of security to consumers that the certificates issued are credible, impartial and well deserved.
With regard to a company changing their testimonials... maybe they have new ones to post based on recent success of other customers. Tom321, it sounds like you really don't know your stuff. Please keep your posts to youfself unless you have something benefical and truthful to say.
Jerry 485 is exactly correct!! With regard to Tom321????
Jerry 485 is exactly correct!!
With regard to Tom321????????s claim of having duplicate testimonials on our site and Debt Pointer, that????????s completely untrue; we have never had such a testimonial posted and I know this because we keep a copy of all testimonials on file for this very reason. Can Tom 321 offer any proof of this claim? Readers should not take everything they read as legitimate considering the source of the information and the fact that Tom321 offers no proof or verifiable was to check the claim at all. This claim is unfounded and meant to damage a company????????s reputation.
I work for Debt Regret and our testimonials are rotated often due to new ones being submitted by clients that have already graduated or that are near completion of our program. Again, to clarify, we do have copies of all our posted testimonials as required by TASC and can provide such if ever requested; however, our client's personal information will always be omitted to ensure their privacy and security remains intact. I hope this clarifies any concern about why testimonials would be changed on a regular basis and helps properly educate Tom321 about how a responsible and ethincal debt settlement company operates. Thanks for the time.

registered
Under Texas law, all debt management companies are required to annually r with the Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner if they provide these services within the State of Texas. The Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner can be contacted by phone at 800-538-1579 or online.
Debt Regret IS NOT registered or licensed to do business in Texas. Texas Division of Corporations does not have them on file. Do a reverse number look up. It does not even match the location they give you.
How is this for truth. Nuff said.

Oh And I'm so GLAD you deny the testimonials ever existed on your site. I was waiting for one you guys to slip up and deny what I saw with my own eyes. All I did was copy it from your site and paste it here....LOL.
NOW I KNOW 10,000% THAT YOU ARE A SCAM COMPANY. SO THANK YOU.
REGARDING TASC
TASC IS "THE ASSOCIATION OF SETTLEMENT COMPANYS" IT IS A NON PROFIT JOKE LIKE THE BBB . IT IS FOR COMPANYS THAT ARE NOT A LAW FIRM. YOU PAY TO BE A MEMEBER, THEY FILE COMPLAINTS IF A CONSUMER EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS OR HOW TO CONTACT THEM . IT IS A POOR EXCUSE TO TRY TO CREATE LEGITMICY FOR SHADY SETTLEMENT COMPANIES
So many people commenting on Debt Settlement Companies have abso
So many people commenting on Debt Settlement Companies have absolutely no clue WHAT SO EVER of what they are talking about.
TASC accreditation
TASC accreditation is a joke for the consumer. They listen to one call and they tell you before hand they will be listening. It is a marketing and lobbying tool, nothing more. They are the people that need to be banned. Going to congress to try to get laws changed for there interest and personal gain. Testimonials please!. Those are as bad as articles written by the company owner. You should be able to go by the office. Look at how many sales people they have versus people who do settlement. If you can't go by the office I wouldn't send them thousands of dollars.
Follow The Money
Hess Kennedy had over 90,000 clients with a little over 250 BBB complaints. That's .00277 complaints according to the court filings by the Receiver Daniel Stermer.
The LBF website just reported (July Receiver Report) that the Debt Management business of Hess Kennedy is still operating and generating over $3,800,000 in "receipts".
LBF paid out over $280,000 in "professional" and "legal" fees to themselves in July from the $3,800,000 worth of receipts and further stated that the "Receivership Entities" will continue to receive "commissions from the Debt Management Business".
My question is to anyone out there, if the business was a scam, how did it settle all my debt and how can it still earn commissions? Tom? Any answer Tom?
I think Laura Hess and her cronies should have hired better lawyers. From the look of it, they had their business jacked.
I also think that anyone who cannot afford to pay their credit cards should stop paying them and look in the yellow pages in their own city for an attorney that does BK or Foreclosure Defense.
Stop listening to the Troll debt collectors that live in here or work for this website that has sold leads to every company that Tom321 gripes about.
Hess Kennedy is a Scam
Quote: "My question is to anyone out there, if the business was a scam, how did it settle all my debt and how can it still earn commissions? Tom? Any answer Tom?"
Answer:
LOL...this is rich. Hess Kennedy was a SCAM pure and simple. Laura Hess NEVER kept money in an escrow account for ANYONE. She said so HERSELF on the stand. They know money was shared with a non-lawyer EDWARD CHERRY (who is a crook) and HE said ON THE STAND that he lied and said he was the lawyer EDWARD KENNEDY. The Florida AG KNOWS that she (They) embezzled more than 20 million and gave it to family, friends and associates.
Now we all know that Laura Hess and Jeff Campos were in on the scam. When asked about the subject Quote:
"Apparently no one maintains there is a link to the New York Kennedy, not even Hess Kennedy. The Florida debt settlement law firm claims its Edward Kennedy resides in Brussels and is not a made-up name for Edward Cherry, an investor who is not a Florida lawyer. So far, the Florida Kennedy has not surfaced. But Kennedy???s whereabouts are only part of Hess Kennedy???s troubles."

By Debra Cassens Weiss Article named "In Search of Edward T. Kennedy, Florida Lawyer"
But we all know NOW that this was a LIE.
C'mon stop it. This is 100% FACT.
EDWARD CHERRY was in cahoots with Allegro Law LLC which is ALSO in receivership due to fraudulent practices. Assets of Allegro Law LLC (Keith Andy Nelms) are FROZEN which is what they should have done with Hess Kenndy.
Again 100% FACT
Edward Cherry Problems
Edward Cherry (Kennedy) Problems:
"As for Cherry, he was sued in 2003 by his former employer, Internet Billing of Deerfield Beach, which claims he embezzled at least $600,000 days before he abruptly resigned from the firm.
The suit said Cherry was listed as Internet Billing's "in-house counsel" even though he is not licensed to practice law in Florida. The company claims Cherry revived and had total control over an administratively dissolved Florida company called Esquire Escrow and used his position at Internet Billing, known as iBill, to get fellow employees to funnel company funds to Esquire Escrow.
Three days before quitting iBill in February 2003, Cherry made a $500,000 withdrawal from Esquire Escrow. The withdrawal slip filed as an exhibit in the case said the money was transferred "to personal and children's accounts." Cherry also made tens of thousands of dollars in additional cash withdrawals of Esquire Escrow funds from money machines and from banks during 2001 and 2002, court documents showed.
Bank records included in the court file show Cherry withdrew at least $12,200 from Esquire Escrow accounts at ATM machines in May 2002. A company bank card was used for a $763 purchase at a Sunglass Hut the same month and $3,130 in charges at Fort Lauderdale's upscale Voodoo Lounge the next month.
In an Oct. 30, 2003, deposition, Cherry invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and refused to answer any questions about what happened to the money moved from iBill to Esquire Escrow.[/u](Why would he do this? They have him cold)
Boca Raton solo practitioner Charles Wender, who represents Cherry and who was present at the 2003 deposition, said Cherry's "position is that he is totally innocent and these are just wild allegations that they obviously can't prove."
Internet Billing attorney Anthony Carriuolo of Berger Singerman of Fort Lauderdale, who conducted the deposition, said documents show Cherry "was just siphoning off tons of money."

Chase forgives debts of scam victimsBy Jeff Gelles
Inquirer Staff Writer
JPMorgan Chase, the nation's largest credit-card issuer, has agreed to forgive the debts of 13,000 cardholders who it says were defrauded by a group of Florida debt-settlement companies that promised to rescue them from their credit-card debts.
Chase's Wilmington subsidiary, Chase Bank USA, agreed to the forgiveness as part of a settlement reached Monday with a receiver appointed to run Hess Kennedy Chartered L.L.C. and affiliated companies. The receiver was named last July as a result of a separate lawsuit filed by Florida's attorney general, who called the companies "scam artists who prey on the vulnerable."
Chase's agreement follows similar deals announced in November, in which Capital One and HSBC forgave the debts of 24,000 cardholders. All told, the card issuers have written off more than $150 million in debt, according to receiver Daniel J. Stermer.
Stermer, a former prosecutor in New York and Florida, said Hess Kennedy was at the center of a web of companies that lured clients with assurances that they could settle credit-card debt "for 30 to 50 cents on the dollar."
What the companies didn't say in their ads was that they would instruct clients to stop paying their creditors and instead start making monthly payments to Hess Kennedy. But rather than disburse that money to creditors, as legitimate debt-management services sometimes do, Hess Kennedy kept it toward an up-front payment of fees.
Stermer said Hess Kennedy charged its clients 15 to 25 percent of their total debt, or about half of what the clients were eventually supposed to pay if they continued with the program.
"It was rare that credit-card companies were actually paid. It happened in certain cases, but it wasn't the norm," Stermer said.
According to Chase's lawsuit against Hess Kennedy, one result of the scheme was that Hess Kennedy's clients fell deeper into debt and suffered further harm to their already damaged credit records.
Stermer said Hess Kennedy and its affiliated companies, including the Consumer Law Center L.L.C., had more than 90,000 clients, whom it lured via advertisements on radio, television, and other media.
Chase's suit said Hess Kennedy's primary tactic was to send form letters on behalf of clients disputing their bills and threatening litigation if collection efforts continued. The goal was to obtain an offer to settle clients' debt for a fraction of what they owed.
Under the settlement reached Monday, Hess Kennedy's receiver agreed to pay Chase $4.4 million in damages, and to share anything the receiver recovers in a related case.
Tanya Madison, a spokeswoman for Chase, said the lawsuit and settlement were "a great success for Chase."
"We identified that there was wrongdoing here against people who were seeking out assistance to manage their debt, so we stepped in," Madison said.
Laura Hess, former managing partner of Hess Kennedy, could not be reached for comment.

I'm sort of thinking that the reason why Laura Hess got off light is because she is a RAT. I think she is telling on EVERYONE and EVERY operation. I don't know.....Allegro Law LLC went down hard and fast. The article said that there are ongoing related cases going on. Just my opinion here.
Lets see.

Hey Tom,
This is also just my opinion, but it is a learned opinion:
There are aggressive clawback measures being taken by the receiver against those commissioned for referring consumers to Hess Kennedy. Some individual organizations received many, many millions of dollars, for referring strapped consumers to Hess Kennedy. The receiver wants that money back. That is the reference to pending cases and the percentage share of any money successfully clawed back.
Same thing will likely happen with Allegro eventually.
This is evidence of what I have harped on for years about the settlement industry. For many consumers, they are paying high fees so that someone can get a large commission for having a one hour conversation or to pay for the advertising on television and radio, or both.
Mileage may vary
Clawback fees eh? I'm curious to know how this turns out. That
Clawback fees eh? I'm curious to know how this turns out. That means The Credit Exchange is in for rude awakening.
Good info Someone else. This will make someone I know posting in here (Don't do it) VERY happy.
