They are attorney debt collectors and fairly sleazy:

What state do you live in? When was the last time you paid on the Sears account?

Nascar is right- they don't play well with others! I have/am dealing with them, and they are well know for breaking all sorts of regulations.

Unless you live in Texas, or a few other states, there is no set time limit as to when they can validate. All my DVs to WW&R and LVNV never got validated. I do know that you need to keep written notes of all phone calls, letters, etc., everything that is sent to you.

Do not give any bank info to them. How long has the account been charged off?

Yes, I'm dealing with them now, I've heard they do sue.....Try to work out a deal. They offered me a settlement, but I could not pay in the time they wanted. They also offered payments, but they are pretty high. Good Luck
